For real. I fell into the Pulsar Modular rabbit hole too. The only company I have found that can actually make digital things sound really good (which is what I take the word "analog" to mean on GS), which a lot of people here don't even think is possible.

i have a 6 weeks old test-account and just collected the free 3 Plugins NLS, Kramer HLS and Lil Tube. They already offer me a WUP-Plan for these Plugins for 45,11 $.
Waves V15, V16, V17 around the corner..

To be fair though if you only need the single licence and are on a Windows set-up then you will be able to use them for years without issue and never even have to consider WUP.

Just depends on what you need as everyone has different set-ups etc.

I was watching a YouTuber recently who was saying that he was advised to do an open mouth thumbnail picture to drive more traffic. Sad state of affairs.

When I was following the new GPU release news / rumors I there was one youtuber I found that had decent information but after awhile every thumbnail had him making that stupid face even if there was no "shocking news" to react to at all.

YouTubers can be a weird bunch.

Some of them clearly think they're special and then complain they can't earn a living at it. Call themselves 'Creators'. Nah mate. The developer created the plug-in. You just gurned and tried telling me it's the best plug-in ever. That's not creating. That's just fishing for compliments.

Go make a song and upload it. That's a creation. Make a music video for it. Creation. Talking into a camera trying to sell me a plug-in you got for free? You're a cut-price sales person. Not a creator.

Get a real job and go back to making videos for fun. Or don't. Only a handful of people can make a real job out of Youtube. For everybody else it's a fools errand.

To be fair, there are quite a few channels I really enjoy. The 'review' type channels less so on the whole. The whole embargo-drop rush for views is depressing.

it's not really their fault... youtube dictates certain terms (thumbnails included) in order for a "creator" to make any money... they tightly control the whole game... thus most "creators" have turned into paid-off robots.

i've been in the youtube game since the start and have seen the corporate takeover slowly happen... and unfortunately, it's not just youtube... it's the whole enchilada.

it's tough for most people to turn down money and keep their own voice, especially if there are threats involved... more and more people, for whatever reason, are selling out for the almighty dollar.

Unfortunately for some YouTubers, this really shows and the content suffers greatly as a result.

My brother makes YouTube videos. Some of them have been pretty successful (Millions of views). He makes re-enactment/building stuff videos.

YouTube are frequently de-monetising videos for various dumb reasons and there is basically no right to reply. I would never base a business on the whims of YouTube. A nice sideline might have made an attractive option for going full time. Which is really precarious.

If you think you’re an independent YouTuber, you’re basically working for google for a lot less than minimum wage.

P42 was an instabuy for me.

Luna Lander sounds great and has a quality reverb alongside the delay, something that’s usually missing. But there’s no panning effects for some reason. Also PSP245 is the same price after discount, gonna have to check that one out.

The reason I ask is because most likely the UAD plug-in is running internally at 192kHz. It's the reason a lot of the UAD stuff sound the way they sound. If you're running 4x oversampling with the Arturia plug-in at 44.1kHz, that's still a bit less than what the UAD plug-in is probably doing.

Ah. It offers some very good oversampling options then.

Finally I had some time to play with the new Amek Mastering Compressor - had to spend some time on a drum loop to really understand how it works and I need to admit that this is a really powerful, clever utility - very useful. I will probably buy it in several months lol
