SPL delivers great sculpting tools, as the emulation of the 500 Series Ranger EQ. Check the Bass Ranger, it's awesome.
Brainworx has some mixing plugs that - although intricate at first - are really useful IMHO.
However I joined the Plug In Alliance when they were running a great sale on the Elysia Alpha set, and I think it's the best software comps I have used. Although now I have the Tubecore 3 U Mastering Comp, so the Elysia's get used less
Dyn EQ, Digital V2 and Alpha compressor, are excellent tools. Top quality. They live in my projects together with stuff from UA, Slate, Sound toys, Eventide, Fabfilter Pro-q2.
Also, Millenia NSEQ-2, SPL Transient designer, Vertigo VSM-3, Vertigo VSC-2, (I use them in the uad version) are extremely good.
Dawplus what kind of problems u mean? I got digital v2 as well and maybe I haven't dabbled long enough with it but it seems like a mid side eq with a few extras (mono maker, presence shift)
I'm happy to have some great Plugin Alliance plugins available, my favourite among them are the Vertigo VSC-2 and VSM-3, Elysia Alpha Compressor and Museq.
In my opinion, it's a great company with great plugins.
Plugin Alliance (PA) is great and has been putting out some incredible plugins.
I own about 10+ plugins from them including the free ones.
I mainly use these...
1. VSC for buss compression on drums/keys
2. SPL Transient Designer for snr and/or drum buss duties
3. BX_Digital EQ V2 for keys buss and Master buss
4. BX_Control for widening samples or anything without using that much cpu
I can go on but these are some of the ones I reach for.
The Elysia Alpha compressor and the Millennia NSEQ-2 are my favorite from them. I use them every single day. The bx_controlV2 is also very useful when I need to tweak the stereo image of something.
Bought the Maag Audio EQ4 and SPL Transient Designer from them. I mistakenly believed the transient designer was the same plugin from UAD (which I demo'd) only native. It wasn't, but it was too late as I had already made the purchase. I much preferred the UAD version. Totally my fault for the false assumption, but the difference in the plugins, plus my follow up interaction with them, kind of soured my opinion.
Excellent sale prices if you catch them at the right time.
I'm tempted to upgrade to the All Bundle just to get everything in one installer and while the price is technically fair to upgrade to the bundle, it's hard to justify paying that much for the plugins I haven't purchased yet as the reason I haven't purchased them is because I honestly don't think I can use them as they wouldn't be needed for my workflow (things like amp simulations and drum exchanger etc.)
I've bought a lot of plugs from them over the years, and always during some sort of sale or using a coupon. They run a lot of sales pretty much all the time. However, some of those plugs have rarely seen the light of day in my projects...
The ones I never use and kinda regret buying: Digital V2, Noveltech Character - and all freebies from PA.
The ones I use in every mix: Elysia mPressor (brilliant comp) and Maag EQ4 ( brilliant air band, though the 2.5k band is also perfect for presence, I use it all the time).

It depends on what you do with it. I had to match hundreds of tracks for royalty free music for websites. I ended up using V2 on almost every track to balance, fix annoying frequencies, fix mono compatibility or actually widening the track a bit. Superb results and very fast to use. In normal mixes I don't need it that often for fixing, but I get wanted results very fast with it.
I would not rate Plugin-Alliance/Brainworx at the same level as Slate or Softube but they having some good stuff. IMO most of the plug-ins are from the same person Dirk Ullrich so this Brainworx/Plugin-Alliance thingy looks for me a bit like a marketing thing.
Anyway, I use the bx_digital EQ very often for mastering.

Are you talking about rating them sonically?
I fail to see how you can do that when they offer plugins not just from in house creation but from third party developers as a distribution company. Paul Frindle's plugin, the Noveltech plugins and I'm sure more were all developed by other people so I fail to see how they can have the same sonic characteristics.
Not disagreeing that Softube plugins sound lovely.
I use spl TD a lot, saturator V2 quite a lot, and bx_control. would like to get the vsm3 and the meter.
I had refinement and character but sold them, they are nice enough but didn't use them lots.
the freebie ones are not too shabby at all.
They are among the best plugins imo, and are a good company. Website very nice, easy to find stuff. Licence thing is done well. Sales are frequent. Good customer service.

You might have a preference towards Slate or Softube, which is totally fine, but you can't really say that they are a level above the stuff offered by PA. The Vertigos, Maags and many others are on the same as the best Slates, Softubes and yada yadas plugins out there, which is ultimately great for us - tons of awesome plugins to choose from.

It sounds to me you have not yet scratched the surface of the PA plugins. I don't have all their plugins but the ones I have I think are first class. I rate them as high as the Softube/Slate/UAD plugins I have.
