Please join us July 22-24, 2021, in Murfreesboro and Nashville, Tennessee, for three days of workshops, papers and events focused on audio education, including curricular resources, teaching strategies and professional development for—and from--industry trainers, faculty and staff who are active instructors at the high-school, undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.
The pace of industrial, technical and social change has only accelerated since MTSU hosted the first AES Education Conference in the summer of 2013. Distance and online learning are no longer niche practices. Machine learning and intelligent automation influence many aspects of media production. The economics and underlying technologies for entertainment and communication continue to evolve rapidly, affecting our students and their career prospects. In this environment, there's a lot for us to discuss and learn from each other.
Current global conditions make it impossible for the Audio Education Conference to proceed as planned this summer. Therefore, the full three-day conference in Tennessee will be delayed by one year. Though we must wait to meet again in person, the program of workshops, papers and special events in 2021 will be stronger and more relevant than ever. Meanwhile, we are developing plans for an online symposium, on or near the original conference dates, with a series of presentations about remote delivery of audio and music instruction. Information about this online event will be posted
here and distributed through AES social media channels as the details become available.
