All through the beta-test period, I put BASSROOM through a wide variety of material.
Although I used the 'Pop - Contemporary' most times ... by no means did I feel bound to use them. [I confess that I never went to the 'main' section of the track to 'calibrate' to the markers].
I used it as a dedicated Low Spectrum EQ. Each time I was able to make improvements to the track.
Even if some of the results were with minimal settings, when dealing with the Power, Foundational, Structure of a Mix ... even a small 'fix' can be crucial.
I've a large variety of 'Analogue' and 'digital' EQ's ... I still found the BASSROOM EQ's to be very very good. With the adjustable 'Q' control an excellent function.
In honesty, I'm still learning how much Q adjustments to make ... many times, it ends up being only a minor amount of change from the default 1.0 point.
We are dealing with the major Power area of a Mix. Even small changes can yield a significant result.
I want to THANK the Dev for, at least, including my suggested 'Band MUTE' function. Being able to toggle a specific Band On/Off , really allows one to HEAR/Feel how that Band impacts the Mix at the Setting used. Again Thank-you.
I would also like to see a Configuration Setting that reverses the MouseWheel direction of the GUI Bands. [apparently, my brain works backward .... yeah ... I know].
At first, I thought BassRoom was going to be a fancy, nitch, plugin ... After extended working with it, it addresses an important nitch ... and does it easier, faster, and with better control than the slew of EQ's I already have.
A solid bottom end, right down to the Souls of Your Feet.
