The horizontal and vertical dispersion is different though for any asymmetric design.
If you have them vertical, then the horizontal sweet spot is wider. So if youβre moving sideways but at the same height (rolling on a chair for example) you have a bit better response.
When the monitors are horizontal, then moving side to side causes you to get closer/further from the tweeter relative to the mid driver. Thats not great for frequency or time response.
But if you donβt move side to side itβs fine. And might move the monitors to a height that causes less modes in the room, so could be better in limited cases.
I tend to move sideways more than I do up and down. So found vertical works best for me.
