I used to have a Roland D-5 chained with a Roland D-110. To add to polyphony
On 4 partial patches, I would put partials 1 and 2 for the patch on the D5, mute 3 and 4, and then take the same 4 partial patch and have it on the Roland D-110, but mute partials 1 and 2, but have partials 3 and 4 on.

When I gave the Roland D-5 to my brother, I also gave in the Roland D-110.

As a matter of principal I put my Pawn Shop Finds® on reverb to sell. I sold my TX-7 today so I guess its that. If you are a Gearslut that bought one recently you got a solid unit that I wish I got to play with for longer

I think it's finally time. Going to sell the Hydrasynth.

It made a lot more sense when I had the Kijimi and Xerxes mounted right above it and used the full MPE + ribbon, etc to control them. Now that they're gone, 99% of the Hydrasynth capabilities are sitting there unused. The last couple times I've messed with it has been to use the arpeggiator to drive some other gear.

I have enough polyphony, solid set of analog monos, and I have a fun digital synth to cover the weirder stuff so I tend not to reach for the HS first when I'm looking for a sound.

The good news is that if anyone in the US is looking for one, this is lightly used with original box.

Woohoo! Some guy just bought two of my SRX boards on Reverb! Even after buying a used STVC for $800 with the Integra's proceeds, I now have a total of $450 to go toward my buy-a-Toraiz-SP16 fund! Halfway there! As soon as my VC340 sells, I'M IN! Never really sold my gear before. Selling stuff, then getting other stuff you wanted instead is f'ing awesome!

The System-8 is next. At $999 with extras, it should go quickly. That's a cool-grand. Then, three or four Slim Phattys at $500 each, and a Little Phatty for like $800-$900. Jeez! I'd have enough to buy something really cool, like a UDO Super-6 or TJ's Xerxes!!! (I'm totally over my P5/10 GAS.)

I’m going through some **** with bad buyers on reverb right now. I have been on reverb 5 years and 100+ transactions without a single bad review. Here we have a bad actor that seems to be having buyers remorse or wanted to rent something. I bend over backwards to make the buyers happy and there are some folks who just want to try to scam the system.

Ya think? It seems they're few and far between at that price. Mine is mint-condition, has the aluminum side-panels installed, and an installed $99 plug-out. So, that's over $150 in extras. I just checked—none are going for $999. Most are at around $1,200. That's PLUS tax, so that's over $1,300 to a California buyer. My buyer will be local pick-up only, so it'll be $999 out-the-door for him/her.

All of my sales so far have been in-person "local pick-up only" deals for cash which pretty much guarantees both parties be honest. I just sold my first thing on Reverb that I have to ship, so we'll see how honest the buyer turns out to be.

It's my first sale on Reverb, so they'll be holding my money for two to four days after they "confirm" the buyer's receipt of goods (instead of immediately after submitting a valid tracking number). Hopefully the buyer confirms and doesn't claim "it never came." I bought insurance, but I didn't require a signature. I wanted to make it more convenient for the buyer and because I also tend to trust people since 99.999% of my online transactions have been problem-free.

Plus I am salty about going out of my way to make sure I sell things as advertised or better and people want to try and scam.

That said the sp-16 is the piece of gear that I just use without fail. It’s so damn inspiring to use. The feature set is limited and that is exactly why I love it.

Ha! Cool! Yeah, every buyer/seller I've personally interacted with were cool dudes; all, fellow musicians just trying to off-load some gear or get a deal on some pristine used gear. I'm also super-honest about condition, and make sure to shoot every flaw. I probably should've required a signature, but it's not a huge amount of money at stake. If I get burned, it'll be a lesson-learned. I just HATE seeing that little yellow sticker on your door, that you have wait or pick up your stuff TOMORROW!

Generally speaking reverb is pretty much gearslutz serving gearslutz. I will say that this particular sale was “tough” to start with. A lot of asks up front. Funny thing is that while not a cheap item, it wasn’t a crazy 5 figure sale that I would consider as more of a high risk venture. There is definitely a sub 1000 dollar sweet spot where you can pretty much feel confident about the transaction.

I don’t know that I want to serve the high end of the reverb market despite the potential profit. A lot of risk I don’t want exposure to.

There's definitely a quick drop-off between "informed consumer who knows what they want" and "oh my god this sale is going to be a nightmare"

True. Well, I feel a lot better about the sale. I just Googled his address in "street view." It's an office building in a business park, so someone will definitely be there to receive delivery. Didn't even think of doing this before I sent it—I was just in such a hurry to make it to the post office before 5:00PM so that I could earn a "ships quickly" feedback score.

I google every customer I have. I’ve served a few famous musicians. I won’t blow up their spot but makes me happy knowing that I have done business with idols...

Hah! Sometimes for fun, with the plethora of working musicians out there buying and selling gear, it’s fun to see some legacy to what i have or eventually sold. I see some people adding names of famous musicians at auctions from time to time (much less so these days) and it’s weird.
