I was thinking this. Instead of buying more hardware like another compressor, eq, etc., to add that “Finished Touch” to my mix etc., why not just use the Liquid Channel? In other words, who’s using the Liquid Channel’s eq, compressors, and pres for added coloration to your mix like other outboard gear and then run the mix back through your ADC?
Thanks!
Basically I use it for tracking vocals with my FLEA 47. But most of the time the real power of this preamp is to use it as a coloring box: meaning yes it is powerful when used on Spdif from & back to the DAW. Applications : Taming sibillances (see Nashville preamp preset) , add some velvet sweetness to vocals (V76 or Neve VR , sometimes Manley preamp). Add some harmonics or EQ . Finally as a killing weapon all the compressors according to the mix I work on (FET, LA2A etc ..).
Believe it or not : I got several gear here for mastering (STC8, Massive passive etc ) & I sometimes use the Liquid Channel for adding a special flavor on a master.
