Seems very cheesy with the knobs named like POP, BOOM, AIRZZ :-)
I don´t think professional audio engineer will be interested in this, its more of a toy..
But on the other hand, I didn´t tested it, so maybe it is usefull. Who knows..

Since i am really not that good at mastering tracks i would be happy to hear from people who are really into it and who tested that Slam Dawg thing.

Hi guys this Gaurav, and i am the creator of Slam Dawg Just wanted to say hello, and respond to the posts here.

Firstly I would like to explain that Slam Dawg is designed for serious producers, it is most definitely not a toy If you have downloaded the trial and played with it, you may agree with me

The name and controls have been derived from popular slang , we are not the first ones to name it this way It would be like calling Dave Derr's Fatso or Distressor a toy

I would encourage everyone interested in this type of a tool to check our sound examples, and then download a free trial and make a decision. Good or Bad is your verdict, all I can request is that you try

EQ, stereo compresser, Limiter...mastering

I always use SLAM DAWG to master my tracks made on BEAT THANG.

Im a distressed fatso...serious

judging by the knob names, this is just an EQ with compression and stereo maximizer built in? This would be good for people that don't want to do homework or don't even know how express in terms like "this sounds muddy".

Not great, though, for experienced ears that would know to bump 80hz for boom and scoop 500hz to get rid of the mud IMO.

Fatso and Distressor at least have musical and technical names for the knobs and functions, not just names like airzzz and pop on everything.

The reactions on some products are really weird,
ranging from "i am not even gonna test this" to
statements like the one before.


For example if there was a real synth like POLY ANA people would totaly freak out like "look how many knobs, cool!"
(yeah i know, the GUI is much smaller than a real synth, but still...)
Or if there was a hardware box like SLAM DAWG at a nice price the same then.

But since it's software the reactions are the opposite
and i think really quite disrespectful to the developers,
who deserve more contructive postings.

I tried it. It set off 10 virus warnings on my beat thang, and caked my sounds in mud. Avoid like the plague.

I don't think anyone meant any real offense. I actually thought the same. A fake user posting about a new software and suddenly the owner chimes in. I am sure you both are legit, it's just easy to overreact in a world with fake rave reviews and infomercials. There is too much shady marketing going on.

That being said, I could never imagine myself owning a product Slam Dawg. Really. I don't even know what it's supposed to mean. But I Got the impression that it's aimed towards a certain type of producers who are make songs about bitches, asses, dollars, more sexy bitches and more dollars. Same reason why I would never buy a Beat Thang. It's clearly aimed to a different kind of producer than I am. Maybe you should post in the hiphop forum?

Yes it's getting "slammed dawg" because it's software, not because it's cheesy **** designed to sucker people that don't know any better.

Make sure you put it on your master fader and mix into it 100% of the time.

With the owner of Beat Thang viral marketing his product on at least one thread here, I wouldn't be surprised if Slam Dang or whatever decided to spam the forum as well.

"HEY GUYS SHOULD I USE THIS PRODUCT?"

"this product sounds like crap"

"OK GUYS IM GOING TO BUY THIS PRODUCT IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE REALLY COOL"

You have to understand that it all sounds really shilly. If there's no interest in a product, don't try to push it on us and justify it so hard? People assume you're getting paid because you're pushing it yet claim to not own it.

Great Dave Derr's product "FATSO" and "DISTRESSOR" get used only by "hiphop" producers dont they ??
Before slamming my product because of its name is silly. Dont wanna try it.. dont.. , no problem..
