Dude... Every MPC except for the 4000 works with a 96PPQ sequencer. So, the "tick range" that you love is really less than 100, and most likely imparted by either hand-played, non-quantized parts....or use of the Swing function(subtle or obvious)
The MPC 4000 has 960PPQ
EVERYTHING else has 96PPQ
