How to record audio directly into iPhone or Ipad ?
Usually I would record audio into Ableton and use a DSRL cam at the same time just for video recording. I will bring the audio and video track together in some video editing software later. That process takes some time to do though.
Is it possible to record the audio directly into the iPhone or iPad? I am currently using an RME Fireface UC. But I am not sure how to get the audio from the soundcard to the Apple devices ?
Yes, you can get a USB dongle for your mobile device and connect a USB interface to it. Or look at something from the iRig range of products from IK Multimedia.
There are quite a few people using the iPad as their primary DAW device. Lots of info on YouTube showing examples.

ditch the RME and get something basic like a Scarlett Solo etc. and get an Apple USB-C to lightning or lighting to usb connector depending on the kind of iPhone you have.
Hello,
I strongly recommend our audio interface, Platane UP1. It is equipped with a second USB port specifically designed for mobile devices. Additionally, we have designed a control panel for precise channel control, including iPad input and output management.
