Indeed. I owned UAD-2 , tried numerous tape sims, have Roundtone etc.etc.

I think that UAD-2 Ampex is really amazing plugin, true benchmark but this one is just as good. Not Ampex replacement obviously but for that price and for wonderful results i am getting with this tonebooster TB Reelbus plugin i think there isn't any room to think twice. I am going to buy it.

why do all the great cheap plug in developers only support VST?? ugh, there are so many out there that look awesome that I can't use due to using PT as my DAW :(

Ask yourself why so many format !!

When my students ask me what daw for pro's to go for ,i answer , any , but one that support a common norma : VST supported by pretty all dev !

In an ideal world all DAW's would use a universal plugin format, but they don't :/

I think plug-in compatibility, whilst important, is one of many, many reasons (functionality, price point, reputation, support etc etc) why one would choose a DAW. I get your point though!

Without wanting to drive this thread off-topic - how much success have people had with FX-pansion's VST-RTAS adapter? I would really like this plug in, as well as several others that are vst only!

fx wrapper is serious ....but i will not buy it only for a 10$ plugins except if you're planning to buy other vst .....

Funny thing about this is that Ferox was first offered (for free) about 10 years ago - when there was no fuzz about the whole tape-simulation thing and no one seemed to care a lot about the plug.

Nowadays everybody is crazy about tape-simulation and this guy comes with a new (and very affordable) offering. I'll try ReelBus for the simple fact that this guy is the pioneer of tape plugs and he really seems to know the inner-workings of this proces. FWIW, there's a cool section on his website about the development of this plug.

Let's see if he is taken more seriously now, despite the modest pricing and the fierce competition around him these days.

wow very very nice . Followed Jeroens work for years now and this is testament to his ability in the science and engineering that something like this must take.

Depth, lift, glue and colour this ticks all the right boxes. A round of drinks costs more than this baby

with out stating that mac or pc are better or worse, this is why i use PC, there has always been more development. Id be rich if i had a penny every time i heard a mac user complain about this very issue.

And most of all it has an Auto Leve Makeup - something most other plugs should have had. Ever got lost in the more volume, yes it`s better game..?..

Sounds nice, on par with UAD me thinks. The soundstage becomes a tad wider and larger on 30ips pro, and the bottom end bigger but not in a boomy way.

And only 10 euro?! That must be 10 euro pr instance... :()

The auto-level thing is brilliant but unfortunately it's still louder than the dry signal. Perceived volume is about .5 - .75dB off. I hope Jeroen fixes this at some point. It'd make it more usable then.

Agreed - IMO it would be better to have a In knob AND a Out Knob.

I like the sound of this, but there's a big problem in Reaper, at least for me. None of the control settings update when you change presets. The sound changes, so the knob values are definitely changing, but the "position" of the knobs doesn't update. Also, the VU meters don't move. Makes it kind of difficult to work with.
