Is there any chance you could add a bypass button to the preset browser? It's a nice workflow to be able to be scrolling through with audition on hearing some choices you might not have gravitated to naturally, but it would be useful to be able to bypass and better hear what a given preset it doing via comparison.

As it stands if I try to bypass in the DAW it closes the preset browser, and then I have to open the preset browser back up, which highlights another issue: regardless of if I was searching across all the presets - say for guitar - it will have narrowed me into the presets for that given user and lost what I was searching for. It would be nice if there was an option to let it remember what and where I was searching, so I can pick up from where I left off.

The workflow is almost objectively terrible - the output gain is on a tall fader, the plugin is taking up too much space heightwise for a reasonable size screen, and when scaled down becomes hard to read. The flick switches are 3d but not enough 3d somehow so very hard to read, and lettering is sometimes hidden by shades. The eq in/out button is post output fader, so turning the eq off when the output is lowered doesn't really work. Cutting and boosting on the same knob is... Interesting maybe? But not ideal. The dual mono settings are cool but on the opposite side of the compressor, which makes it a pita to use. The push buttons are unintuitively laid out and placed in a weird spot. And as someone has already mentioned, it's very hard to use the different gain staging settings.

Well, I actually do sort of appreciate what seems to be your UI thing theoretically (making plugins for famous engineers to fit their workflow), it's just it doesn't work irl. Not sure why it matters that the modules are spread out on the board? The great thing about plugins is they're not restricted by cables, components and lumps of metal...

This is just pointless moaning, the workflow is completely fine and easy to work with.

I was on the beta team for this one and, as a full time mastering engineer, was actually very surprised at how much I enjoyed using it in my chain. After all, it’s a channel strip, and I can’t recall the last channel strip I used in a mastering context. But the sound is just stellar, and the compressor section, even for mastering, really is a lot of fun to work with. For me, the simplicity of the dynamics processing lended itself to a critical rethinking of how I use compression, and I feel the results have spoken for themselves in my work over the past month or two. I would encourage all of you to spend time with it and get to know it, as there are some subtle idiosyncrasies that can be leveraged to your advantage. Specifically, the dual mono mode and tolerances are very, very effective for adding that spatial “dust” to stereo sources that accompanies analog processing. Those who have used hardware units that have this will know what I mean. I’m very attached to this plugin, and that’s a direct result of my time with it. Learning it has actually been the most analog experience I’ve probably ever had with a piece of software, and I don’t say that lightly. I sincerely hope that others can relate. Use your ears, and I believe you will find a wealth of enjoyment with it.

A super classic sound!

The analog emulation is technically excellent and you can easily put it on all tracks without any harshness or unwanted artifacts.

The behavior of the curves in relation to the indications may seem strange, but this is normal and very well explained in the manual.

I managed to make it work and I’m very glad I did.
It’s a really great sounding piece of software.
It gives a nice solidity to whatever I’ve used it on and, as others have mentioned, it is very analog sounding.
I am not sure I like the GUI but it’s the sound quality that matters most and this has it in spades.
Also, I really appreciate having loads of useful presets to work with, although it would be great if they could be organised according to type as well as authors, eg. Acoustic Guitar or Mixbus etc. to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.
Love the sound and vibe of this plugin.

Finding many unusual uses for this.

The output fader in Reaper is working inconsistently. When trying to scroll down, it can move too little or too much.

Mac or PC? and are you using the scroll wheel? Or are you clicking and dragging?

I often do that. I do it with the hi and low frequency selectors, I have them on the UC1 eq freq controllers, and the mid frq q I have on the mid freq q controller. All switch parameters controlled by rotating controls. Works fine, and they are perfectly natural places for them, even fits the text on the unit.

My problem with a switch like line/mic/OD is where to put it? On one of the controllers in the gate section? I'll have to look it up whenever I need it; now where did I put that line/mic/OD on the UC1?

Might as well use the mouse. The point of UC1 is intuitiveness, after all.

I had similar thing when I tried to buy Mixhead. It turned out to be the unregular characters in my adress. I swapped my Øs with Os, and that fixed it. You have any æ ø å ü etc in your info?
