Cracking open a VI Drum mix that sounds really good but...well... fake in it's perfection I guess. So I run smart ops and match the gain/pan/width of a great sounding REAL drum recording and apply it to the VI Drums All while keeping an eye on full spectrum phase. and all. I have been working on this technique quite a bit lately and it is really cool. I have had some very nice results loading it on an aux return's I have taken to naming "Drum Space" "GTR Space" "Vox Space" etc.
I did a ton of captures at 44.1 and 96, finding the proper reference is perhaps the hardest part? I have had great results with captures from some of the audiophile discs I have around


I really hate that phrase and consider myself a High Fidelity Lover more than the "A" word... I like to be high sometimes and enjoy all music played back in Hi Fidelity...
