The Softube sale ends on the 16th and and I'm thinking of getting this, the Trident A Range and maybe the active-passive pack.

Yeah as an expander on toms is what I'm most interested in using this for. I have the hardware and use it on snare for almost every rock gig. I hope the plug comes close.

i have never used the hardware but this is an AMAZING snare / toms expander

i never considered expander a tone shaping tool, rather technical (muting unwanted sounds). but this expander gives drums PUNCH. kind of applies volume curve of cool snappy compression / limiting to the transient of opening gate

I like the rms limiter of this thing also.

Currently experimenting with it in parallell on drums. Separate instance for shells and cymbals (hi-f emphasis, slow release).
