How close are you in order to hear it? And how quiet a room?
6-12 inches. Anything that makes any noise ie fans is in a machine room (cupboard) I would like more room isolation but its OK. I cant give you a number sorry. Its only planes that hack me off the most because of the low frequency masking.
Not doing Atmos here so have never checked.
Add me to the mix. Just bought a 24 I/O adat lynx n. Coming from Apollo i was amazed at the difference. I’ll never go back BUT that high pitch ringing noise is nuts. I can hear it like a foot away. Not to mention my mic easily picks it up. I can actually see it! Converters sound amazing but I can’t believe this is even a thing. My Apollo never did this.
I have a 16TB and it's dead quiet. I have it racked with a vented spacer above and below. I don't think the 16TB makes noise.
This is using it with ProTools via USB C into Mac using the cable Lynx recommends on their website.
I haven't tired using the little card to record on, but I did buy some of the cards recommended on Lynx' website.
I’m jealous! don’t think it’s a cable issue cause I can hear the high pitch sound soon as the unit is turned on. That’s if it’s connected to my computer or not. Ima reach out to lynx. Every time I email them they respond within a few hours. I paid a pretty penny for this unit. I also had it sent in to be upgraded to 24 I/O from 8. It made the noise even with the 8. Only had the unit for about 2 weeks or so

FWIW my Aurora N 16 TB is also completely silent. Definitely reach out to Lynx!
Mine is 32TB with the ADAT and 16 AES. I can hear a whine but have to be very close.
Is the ADAT card the one making the noise I wonder? or Just the TB models?
Just trying to work out what the difference is.
