I´m using Qcon for several years now, 24 Faders.
If it only could show the track colours...

is this one going to be el caption compatible? i know i wanted to buy the white one and i saw on the site it wasnt.. whats the difference between this and the white one to make a price jump?

Controlling plugin parameters has always been in the HUI protocol. Mapping WHICH parameters appear on which page is the thing that is important. Like every time i launch the FabFilter Compressor I get in sequence on page 1, Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release etc... exactly as I want to map them.

Or with a 4 band EQ and two filters I can set the knobs to be - in sequence -
HPF freq, Lo gain, Lo Freq, Lo Mid Gain, Lo Mid Freq, Hi Mid Gain, Hi Mid Freq, Hi Gain, Hi Freq, LPF. Even better if I can have the controller have a custom map for every EQ I own where I can program this same sequence in - then choose what appears in page two.

Can the Qcon really do this?

I think the answer is NO. Because this controller is a HUI controller, nothing more.

The HUI protocol has all the parameters we want to get at - there is just a default order of how they are served up. The Qcon would need a SW wrapper on top of the HUI protocol to allow the parameters to be all dumped in and then served how the user wants. This is especially tricky when we want the Qcon SW to recognize what Plugin is being served up - look at our custom mapping - and then parse the data and serve it to us how we want it. Totally doable but complicated. I too will be surprised if this device can do this - but will also be ecstatic if it can.

I’m really excited about the Qcon Pro-X. This is closes to what I want a controller to be. All the right buttons are there, there will be extenders and I love the meter bridge.

I really like the look too. Not as toyish as the Behringer Touch-X, and not as sterile as the Avid Artist Mix.

It seems to be available already on some websites. Anyone ordered it yet?

If all the "right" buttons are there in the right places, plus extenders, it's been available for many years...the QconPro. Or maybe you don't like silver or don't want meters next to each slider?

The overlay is gone...good! What else? While the protocol is MCU it's still up to the individual DAW maker to make it really work great.

it looks cool but the thing that puts me off is support..i bought a i-creativ and ive never been able to get it too work with cubase ive contacted tech support and only got one reply saying follow the guide on there website i replied i have but its showing a different firmware for the controller than you actually have on your website then got no replys.i tried on loads of forums still no replys i contacted the guy who did vids of it on youtube he said cant help no longer has it.
icon seem to have no tech support or any type of bug fixs once you buy one of there products id hold caution buying one.

Sorry I can't help since it's not a QconPro, but this has also been my experience with Icon. Until about a year ago the only distributor for the QconPro was Icon USA, and they did give good support. But Icon has changed their distribution and support for the USA.

Get the support from the seller because I have had no luck with Icon. And now that the QconPro is being sold in the USA through all the normal outlets, ask yourself if your seller offers that "after the sale support." Controllers often need it.

I did mate I contacted the store I got it from they told me to contact icon Europe .i contacted them they didn't reply I sent them a few emails no reply I emailed icon china no reply I finally emailed icon USA and they replied see tutorial on website I then told them its wrong and could I get more help please and then no replys and found out icon use is no more..they make cool looking gear but don't expect any support at all id rather pay a bit more and get support.

For me to control Plugins a Parameter Mapping program is a MUST.. otherwise is just waste of money.

That just doesn't seem right assuming you purchased it from a legitimate distributor such as B&H, Zzounds, SamAsh etc. Either they need to support what they sell or assure you the manufacturer will provide that support right?

Maybe this is why Sweetwater who boasts so much about that "after sale support" but often quotes higher prices, haven't added Icon yet? I don't know.

Is parameter mapping the actual problem? That is done in Cubase.
