The trouble with so many 'medications' these days is most give you more problems than they solve and require you to then take other drugs to counteract them. Drug companies are not really people's friends............

I'm not going to address this individual directly, as I (along with everyone else) saw how it went down last time with the subject of AI.

What I have come to realise in my brief 50 year's of mortal existence, is that there is no way to reason with an unreasonable person and it's just a complete waste of time and energy.

I refuse to allow someone else's actions to unbalance or affect me and won't dignify such behaviour with a response.

Absolutely. You most definitely did not dismiss the plugin and only recommended that I demo it 1st, which is a solid piece of advice.

I thought a bit of solidarity would be encouraging after observing the drawn out AI debacle.

I had only recently started participating in this thread (although I had watched it for some time), when I was told that there was a lot of fluff in my reverb collection and was somewhat put down because I didn't have a Lexicon reverb or any UAD reverbs. The tone was definitely condescending, but I responded diplomatically.

However, I have definitely seen a pattern forming since then. I'm mature and experienced enough to know that if an individual's ego prevents them from being able to have a reasonable and objective view of themselves when it is pointed out to them, it's a complete waste of time trying to explain to them about how they come across to others. If someone is determined to remain in a delusional state, there's no convincing them otherwise.

Thanks. it is appreciated, and I'm glad people are noticing that someone has an eternal need to 'justify' themselves at the expense of others.
Most of us on here want it to be fun and are not busy trying to pretend to be something we are not so fortunately don't feel too insecure about things...........

IIRC dear reality also removed one of their plugins from the PA store.

I guess there may have been some exclusive listing arrangements with PA that recently expired.

Apparently with the release of UVI's Percussion Designer they dropped Percussion Store from their lineup. That's a shame as I actually liked PS for what it was/is. It's a hard no for me on the new plugin.

As a follow up to my questioning regarding limiters - spent some time yesterday comparing a bunch of limiters (6 specifically) and interesting to see the subtle differences between them be it tone, transient response and distortion.

I'm admittedly still working on my critical listening especially on compression as find, for example, EQ and saturation much easier to hear even the subtleties.

Curiously enough of the 6 I tried I found the most transparent results from the FAST, I am assuming because of the spectral aspect.

Thanks - I have the black box, shadow hills and adaptr audio stuff. They're on sale for around £50 on PB at the moment, which is definitely a fair price. I think that most people got wise and realised that it was best to wait for the very lowest prices that PA was prepared to sell them for, rather than pay higher prices. As a result, the situation was probably no longer sustainable for the developers and understandably so!

Oh ....that's a shame in some ways. I wonder is they'll be veering away from sample based in any of their other lines.

Did you try Sonible's Smart:Limit, or its scaled down version Pure:Limit, in your comparison? - I understand that it's the same developer.

I didn't bother with Pure:Limit, as I already have Smart:Limit and I'm interested to hear how it compares to the Focusrite Fast Limit.
