Yep, the "public" Xmas sale price is $99, and the newsletter code XMAS21-SHCA drops it to $79.99.

This means, as you say, depending on your voucher level, you can use either the $50 or the $75 loyalty voucher to drop the price according to what's best for you for a similar end result.

It's not the first time this kind of offer is available, giving different voucher levels a similar choice of discounts, and I think is part of the slight "rethinking" of the voucher system PA inferred when people complained about the usefulness of the $50 (the other tweak was making the $25 generic, so people at the $50 or $75 level could also take advantage of the smaller level offers.)

Anyway, we have this Xmas "Calendar" sale until the 24th, when December's loyalty vouchers expire, and then presumably it'll be straight in the Xmas sale...

Yep - both vouchers are generic. And I finally got down to the coveted $25 voucher level from the utterly useless $50 level.

It's no longer as useless, because if you're on the $25, that's all you get, whereas if you're on the $50, you get the option of either a $25 (generic, and they are pretty much always easily shared/obtainable) *or* your $50, throughout the month, depending on what's most useful for a given offer.

So basically, by moving down to the $25, you don't gain anything, and actually lose some options.

Also, there seems to be a bit more action lately at plugins at $79.99, whereas previously it was mostly $69.99 or $99.99...
(For people that don't know, the $50 voucher has a $75 min spend).

I'm confused. Just logged into my PA account and the countdown timer says there's 18 hours (or so) left for the first set of deals. The email I got from PA announcing the first pair of plugins for sale says 48 hours for the sale. The email is time-stamped at roughly 3:15 AM. So what's right - the PA timer or the email?

Well for me the $50 was useless these last few months as I have pretty much everything I want. The only plugin I'm even remotely interested in is the HG2MS saturator which for me is $69.99 so $25 would fit the bill.

It was given to me.

If you don't have MetricAB or something similar that could well be the best $15 you spend with PA.

The email says specifically: "Code expires Dec 2, 11:59pm PST"

The "48 hours", meaning the offers last for two days. The timestamp of the email is irrelevant (it takes hours to roll out hundreds of thousands of emails to your userbase).

The website timer says currently 18 hours left of "Day 1" ("X-MAS SALE DAY 1" - Dec 1st). Then there will be a 24 hours timer for "Day 2" (Dec 2nd), at the end of which (as the code says), these 2-day/48-hour codes expire and there will presumably be new offers...

So the date maths seems to all work out...

At $29.99 (with my $50 voucher) is shadow hills red that much better than green ?

Don't know where you got the idea I talked anything but decent to you. A simple Google search using the site: operator would have given you the answer you wanted. But I decided to answer without sending you that route.

Don‘t forget to make yourself british for the purchase (unless you are a professional who relies on the billing adress).

I should have resisted as now there‘s this additional 25€/ 20 GBP voucher bringing the price of the bundle down further. But hey, maybe that Tilt EQ even is useful and that‘s what I got on top for the price difference.

I love using Plugin Alliance plugins, however I find it tedious to play their marketing game. I realise it could well be a very effective marketing tool, but from my point of view, I find it tiresome and am going to refrain from partaking for the foreseeable...

I mean Black Friday weekend sale, followed by the very next day Xmas sale.....

Honestly... it's a gem, and by far the best plugin of it's kind (I've tried the others including the ones you mentioned).

*Well* worth it - even if you don't reference other tracks, you can use it to reference your work in progress mixes to see whether you are really making improvements from earlier bounces.

Highly recommended, and worth much more in utility gains than it's sale price, imo.

Feel like it's to do with the crowded market and difficulty standing out even with good products. Capitalism is premised on ever-expanding markets, but the reality of supply and demand in niches like ours is that people do fill up their toolkits, and there is not an unlimited number of people buying these things even though it's a big number.

But they have a foothold! The shopping mall is in our pockets now. On the ubiquitous screens we stare at. And thus the mall is in our heads at all times, as long as they're pitching sales we might swing. And everything is fundamentally either always on sale, or about to be. Batter up?

Speaking of, to commemorate the holy transition from Pre-Black Friday sales to Black Friday sales to Cyber Monday sales to Pre-Christmas Sales, with no breaks, amen, I am thinking hard about Metric AB! Hm, could get it and SHMC at $22 each with my $75 voucher this month if I spend it right now on Day 1. If I were to go separately on them it'd be $14.99 for Metric + $24.99 for SHMC, which would work out to more than just using the $75 voucher on both of 'em and stocking the $25 for later in the month - these have been on my watch list. Looks like @ musicman691 and I traded places...as I'm new to the $50 voucher, can you confirm that I can only use either the 25 or 50 voucher, not both? I thought I might have landed a jackpot with two vouchers but from what you are saying, using one will cancel the other one - am I understanding this right? Thanks

Yes, they always give one, after every purchase.

Among the personal offers, I can see a 49 price tag for the newest Manley preamp, too (maybe because of having the VoxBox).

You can use one loyalty voucher per denomination per month (or up until it's expiry date, which is sometimes earlier if there is a sale coming), regardless of whether it's yours, is generic, or is purchased/gifted to you.

So you can use up to one $25, *and* one $50, *and* one $75 per month. You can't use eg two $25, or two $50 vouchers.

In short, if you are on the $50 tier, you can use your $50 on one deal, and you can use the generic $25 on another deal. You can't use either more than once, and you can't use your $50, then get someone else's $50 and also use that.

I picked up the new SSL v2 and the free Lo Fi and got the Linear Phase eq for freebie. I like the SSL tone alot and I have pretty much all the big emulations(including the SSL version). The lofi verb thing on a parallel drum track added just the right amount of trashy reverb on one track.

Speaking of which I picked up the SSL reverb too.

The only other things I bought were JHS pedals which are hard to find on sale so when Sweetwater had the on black friday sale I immediately ordered the new rat styles pedal and while I was at it, the muffaletta pedal.

Oddly enough, i hated the OE rat pedal when it came out, but that seems to have kept me from trying all the different iterations over the years. JHS' video showed me what I was missing. It's actually on back order but should be here this month.

Does a transferred PA licence ever become NFR ???

I've never seen/heard anything about this regarding PA.
All i know is the plugs i bought 2nd hand don't show/mention NFR
and i can't see anything about it in my account afaik
