Overstayer is nice but I can't justify it presently as an owner of all these other ones you have listed.

especially with the "pro" version (or however they call it) you can easily create a wonderful open sound. Love it on the mix Bus and also on other Busses. I bet I can achieve that also with others (most likely Kelvin) but im much faster with Overstayer.

Yes with the extended version you can get close with Kelvin although I haven't managed exactly, but I am only recently delving properly into Kelvin.
I do like the outer edge saturation sound of overstayer but will wait for a better deal one day !

I often use one early in my chain and one at/towards the end of my vocal chain so as not overwork either one. At first I always used two of the same (for years that was waves Rde-esser), but then started mixing them up (ala 1176 & la2a combo lol) for often better results. It's all horses for courses though...

I actually use the free T-De-Esser but I got curious. I only use one instance at the end of my chain but I try to follow your suggestion. Thanks.

Speaking of focusrite, I think their FAST eq and FAST comp are brilliant with a simple, workflow oriented concept. If they are giving away any of those I'd give the competition a try.

I much prefer Boz Transgressor 2. Wait for BF. It will still cost more, but for me very worth it. Iirc, at BF $40? A good DeEsser that is flexible...unlike most, is an investment. Learn what it can do.

The drawback: its not an instant plug like SPL or Transient Master unless you create a lot of presets.

I'd imagine so but also don't put any faith in things when they say 'good until the end of the month' as we all know that's a load of horse manure. Keep in mind that Halloween is at the end of the month and they usually run a sale during that time. But really at this point in time I don't care as I have most everything I need/ want from PA. Not that I wouldn't mind the Amek strip at $79.

I hear ya. After playing The Game long enough everyone has just about everything me included. But I would also like that Amek strip.

I would also always try and use a de-esser as one of the first instantiations in my vocal plugin chain - if you don't de-ess early on you will almost always exacerbate the problem with other effects you use in your chain and then will have so much more of a headache towards the end of your vocal chain. (I sometimes also add one towards the end and am also not afraid of using 2 instances one after the other early on in the chain depending on the circumstance).

Just my 2 cents as they say. I actually learned this from the great Warren Huart.
