That system is fantastic, I also looked at it some time ago, if you like it then go for it, at least it's ready to go when you get it, if you want to swap modules later then you can, it will sound mean and nasty that system, if I had the money I wouldn't hesitate at that system, it's pukka..

The dotted lines mean they are additional patch points for the patch. Not necessary, but optional.

I believe the Multiplication patch is for multiplying voltage, not clock speed.

Surprisingly well. I knew there were issues going into it but so far no real show stoppers. The beat repeat buttons acts up when played with swing but I don't really use them that much. I'm not sure if this is user error or a bug. As a long time MPC user I simply love being able to play the modular with big rubbery pads.

I haven't recorded that much into the DAW but the one track I did do lined up to the grid pretty well. I can tell from the wave form that there was a little drift but at 3:30 in it was still pretty close. I just can't bring myself to drop $1k+ in sequencer modules it would take to do everything it does. Maybe once I'm a little further in but I still don't know. Long term I'm considering a Innerclock or Expert Sleeper system. Or maybe go full on slut and get in line for a Cirklon.

I keep being tempted by the low prices, but the only real draw for me is that the CV comes out quantized (I assume?) Am I correct in understanding that it's just a four-track sequencer with two of the channels outputting CV, one for MIDI drums, and another for MIDI pitches? Is there anything about this that screams "You've got to have one of these!" if you've already got say an Oberkorn, a quantizer, and a TriggerMan?

Serge rulz. Really amazing, nice bugbrand there too. Banana systems are self contained and really feel like an instrument they're just awesome to experiment and get lost in.

Absolutely, and the variety in sound/philosophy between these 3 banana formats is perfect. They each work beautifully alone, and also each provide a good deal the other don't if you want to inter patch them.

And they all sound completely different, so its really cool setting 4 or so clock divisions on the serge using its slope/transient generators, then using its logic modules & modcan's gate sequencer in combination with those to drive traditional sequencers, percussive envelopes, and analog shift registers to have a good 6-8 part jam going all in sync without any actual clock dividers! Ha. Also cool that all those clock divisions can easily be modulated all into different master/divisions just by adjusting a single slope's fall. Very cool when you have the modcan X/Y joystick patched to control multiple timing parameters

Yes I'm very tempted to grab the lot, i was expecting two smaller systems so it's thrown me a bit due to cost so now I need to think a bit more but hmmmmm, It is a beauty. I was all for 5u this year as I want totally uniform design but this has got me so interested, as does the ajh mini.

I doubt you'd get much more mileage out of the 2 cv sequencers than the Oberkorn. I haven't used or done much research on the Triggerman. It looks a bit like Pamela's Workout? That is the only thing I could imagine would be significantly different but it depends on whether you like to program beats or bang them out with big rubber pads. I'm much more of the later. I don't think I could do my thing with just clock dividers and the like. The BSP puts out 8 CV triggers for drums or whatever and is very immediate. I will say the thing feels sturdy. No wobbly pots or cheap pads. The firmware seems like the biggest issue.

I built a AMSynths JP8 filter and I just can't figure out why it doesn't work, luckily I bought one too and that's great, I like the JP6 too. My Favorite is still the Mirage and my least Favorite is the Snowfall.

The Triggerman does a lot of stuff, much of which I haven't scratched the surface of. My main function with it is that it's can work as an 8x8 gate sequencer with a really fun layout (one knob controls the rhythm of the gates and the other controls where the rhythm starts.)

I didn't know the BSP had CV outputs for the drum section. That just made it a lot more appealing, actually as I have a lot of drum modules. Besides playing in the drums, can they be programmed in x0x style? If so, I am soooooo bonering for one.

And I prefer staying within a designers completed vision. That's the great thing about todays world of modulars. It's all there for each persons preference.

For me, it depends. One brand of euro, definitely not. But for my 5u, it's almost all DotCom. I've got a couple Trouby modules for it, but even those I debate unloading and replacing with more DotCom.

Oh, I have no intention on keeping it this size; I have at least 12u planned out (actually, I have several 12u systems planned out) I'm only starting out with this small setup as my immediate live performance setup... and because I'm broke at the moment.

Not asked Rob, it's is in draw I keep thinking as I learn I'll return to it one day and find the fault, my trouble is I dont like to feel Im burdening people, out of the 40 plus modules I've built I have 3 that don't work.

In the late 90's early 2000's I ran a couple of Serge panels alongside a Synton Fenix and two cases of Modcan.
The Modcan certainly added a lot to the variety and quality of sounds based on the Serge.

So at the risk of inflating the market: Modules that were once the flavor of the week and are now undesirable. Any recommendations? I'm noticing that a lot of these modules once they fall out of favor are going for DIRT cheap, so I'm trying to snag as many of them as I can find. I want more forgotten gold in my system.
