I enjoyed it. No EQ's or dynamics where used during tracking but I did play around with them. They're allright. The eq's are smooth but zippered a bit too much to my taste when swepping through bands. The dynamics ? Well ... as good as plugin dynamics get I guess. If I were to track using dynamics or EQ I doubt that I would use either. Too many nice outboard in their rooms.
All tracking was done @ 96/24 ... into PT HD using stock 192 convertors.
Pre's : 1081 remote ones ... used both for tracking in the 88D and the VRP room.
Actually ... the main reason for using the 88D room was surround. And the flexibility that room offers for tracking in surround.
The 88D is a very ... very nice desk ... I thought the cue mix method was a bit of a hassle but other then that ... a charm. I don't know the desk well enough to actually comment it for mixing so I won't say anything about handeling of automation / inserts etc etc ... I've fooled around with it a bit and well ... I like my D control and will keep that one thank you.
In the end ... I guess you could say that after mic placement / gain staging etc etc ... the 88D served as a huge monitor controller for the rest of the days. Pro Tools did the actual work in that room. The best thing about that studio is their rooms ... they have absolutely fantastic sounding rooms. And those are imvho far more important then the actual gear that was used.

I'll look for some pics of those sessions ... have a bunch of those at home.
