One thing I'm missing on the Bass is a routing from the mod wheel. The Volca does respond to keyboard velocity, but it would be nice to have a second axis of expression. Filter cutoff is presumably out (on the Bass at least), but LFO or envelope intensity should be doable, and would be just as good.

This is one respect in which the Mini- and Microbrutes are just better instruments.

Really hope they do a similar upgrade to the monotribe ie CV/GATE on the volcas so these can play together...

er... maybe have a look at the midi spec. set your mod wheel to send CC 42 or 48 for LFO or EG INT respectively.

Analogue control is better for filters or they get steppy... even so, cutoff on the Keys can be sent (not resonance).

I have the original LittleBits and their upgraded kit (once they changed the connectors). I've been using them to help teach electronics and logic to my kids.

The other kits have a number of lights, controls, branches, and other interesting bits that would play nicely with this.

Should be a ton of fun

Interesting - hadn't actually realised that littleBits was an existing company with other products - thought it was a Korg thing as they aren't really sold/marketed over here in Japan. Wondered why the article was worded a bit strangely haha. Guess you'd have to buy a hell of a lot of kits to build a sequencer though!

Anyway, enough thread derailment then, but would still like to see a CV/Gate option on the sync section.... Anyone had a good look at the ports? The monotribe obviously had the TRRS jack option all along, so guess if its not there at the moment it will never come...

So what's the ball park figure on the backlog? I appreciate the good deal on the bundle but saving a few $ to have to wait until next year to get them is really starting to loose it's appeal.

I happened to have ordered through someone else for the Volcas.

I got my Volca Beats, which I pre-ordered early on, but the Volca Bass, which I pre-ordered much later (summer) is still on backorder.

We received 70 Volca's today.

Some keyboards can reassign the mod wheel to a different CC, others can't. That's why I suggested making a default assignment in the Volca itself.

A fun tip: The "Rock Band 3" keytars make cool lil' battery-powered MIDI controllers for these. The PS3 version is under 15 bucks shipped on Amazon.
