Thanks a lot. Been mixing some new songs so may take awhile to do some VBass demos, but I'm up for it.

Quick tip: I've been using the VBass as extra oscillators for the Minibrute. Now, while holding a note on the MB, you can still use the VBass' ribbon. Now, you can play rudimentary chords using both hands. The note on the VBass will die as soon as you stop holding note on the MB.

So like playing two monos at the same time but a little worse?
Or do you mean that the volca bass will play two notes by itself?

More this - but it only really works with sustained notes (think drones).

Perhaps if using the LPF only. But the miniKorg 700 filter has a dual LPF+HPF design which obviously gives much greater range of sounds than the single LPF in Volca synths. So if you want to use the Keys Volca to get those 'format' sounds or band-pass sweeps from miniKorg 700, you won't be able to.

One of my favorite local synth bands uses a miniKorg 700 live. That thing sounds great.

The KEYS unit is EXACTLY what I expected and maybe even a little better quality sound wise than I thought it would be. Midi to a full sized keyboard and for $150 you get a 3 voice poly synth - that would be $2037 in Moog dollars! :D

Now that people have these, lets hear them! Post up what you are doing with it.

Brought mine to work today dialed in as a THEREMIN to make some spooky office noises. Everybody digs it!

Would love to hear your spooky office noises aswell! There are never too many demos - especially if it has a different approach like your theremin-thingy!

2) "Preorders" are still not anywhere close to being fulfilled.

ha! it just sounded like your basic Theremin: little LFO vibrato, muted filter, portemento and they were sliding up and down the fake keyboard making ghost and 50's sci-fi sounding stuff. Didn't record any of it... then we hooked it up to some larger computer speakers and others came over to watch. Showed them what turning knobs did and they were into it. None of them know what a synth is, but twisting the knobs and making weird noises was very entertaining for them. One guy commented, "Wow... I could probably do this all day" hahahahaha WE know that feeling, don't we?

I'll record some Theremin tonight to post up.
Also did an OKAY rendition of "Final Countdown" intro, and a sad version of "Jump", but "Stairway to heaven" didn't really work out well at all :D

I was going to buy Volca Beats yesterday as an impulse buy, but there were none available at the local dealers. Bummer!

Yikes… that is a painfully long wait. Wish they would send a demo unit or two to some Canadian retailers.

No kidding, wish JRR Shop would have brought up the whole "sure we will sell all 3 at a discount but that means you're at the bottom of the list until demand lets up" provision. Cancelling my sweetwater order that I placed as soon as these were announced in the spring over $50 doesnt seem that wise anymore

It's still first order first ship with them, having nothing to do with the discount. The problem was just that they were shipped so few from Korg in the first few shipments to begin with.

You can turn that around to a more playable position with some good ol industrial strength velcro. It will stick awesomely. I do this a lot with effects pedals. You will be able to play the Volca really well. Good idea added that piece of kit the the PO8 by the way.

Of the hundreds of orders we got, really only 5 or so people didn't order bundles. We did have a spare Volca Keys at one point and one of my sales guys sold it without me knowing, which I wasn't happy about and I've made sure they don't do that again.

On a positive note, so many people are canceling to get MicroBrutes that everybody behind them is moving up in the queue.
