I dunno. The seller did say it rivals a $6000 Memorymoog. If this is the case, then he should jack up the price IMO. It may sound better than a Jupiter 8 then.

Perhaps we are missing a deal here!! After all, you get all the Juno sounds AND it's better than a Minimoog as the seller states.

wow... thats pretty wrong. mks-7 is not a vco synth.... it's DCO (on 6 voices) and if I remember right, the bassline oscillator is generated from the microcontroller, so that's not even a DCO.

also it has the same filter/vca chips as the juno 106/jx3p/ mks30 that are all doomed to die eventually... though at least if it's worth US$1800, then the $300ish it will eventually cost to replace them all is pocket change...

I wonder what happened to the original panel? my guess is they decided the original cream panel that one had wasn't pro looking enough, and decided that a coat of black paint and some dymo labels would be better? idiots.

Try and find the service manual. I just googled but didn't have much luck... but whatever the problem is, you'll be better off with a service manual..

I haven't looked at it for a long time but I remember pretty strongly that the bass voice was driven from the micro. there was the square wave, which was the direct pin output, and a sawtooth wave which had a really simple circuit (diode and a cap and a resistor??) and an analogue switch on each to turn them on or off.

Ditto here. There was a guy selling a piece of gear and I was trying to send him some advice to help him sell it, and he got disgusting with me about it. I don't message people on eBay anymore because of that crap. Sellers are too cocky.

Ebay shoots crack everyday and not just meals times. I've been severely turned off by ebay. I use to like going there to check on gear, but now everyone and their mom seem like they are in a business on ebay, trying to sucker you in to think what they are selling is a good price. And they keep it there until you see nothing but it, and can think nothing but that price. That's how they work. They play on your weak strings and if they get bites they like to play games and raise the prices, drop them a little and raise them back up.

All you need to buy is the 'ebay business strategy courses' to learn how to "control" the situation or price setting.

What's sad, is ebay business sellers have set the "Market Value" of synths ( not to my in my mind though ) and it's not the place it use to be when random sellers would list things and you could actually get a good or fair deal. Now it's one big poo poo platter.
