Wish I still had a copy of the ad, but about two years ago there was an ad on Craigslist in Albuquerque for a Juno 106 going for "CHEAP" because it was "A little scratched." Now, keep in mind I just bought a pristine Juno 106 a few miles north in Rio Rancho for $300, looked like it had never been used.
So I go to check it out and this guy brings me to a table where it's set up. The keyboard is bent at an obvious angle in the middle and every slider on the thing was bent sideways like a fish-hook. I plug in headphones and without even touching a key I can hear a single voice droning on with the LFO modulating its pitch. I try to change settings and play the keys and it doesn't alter the sound. I mean, this thing looked like it was run over by a semi!
I told the guy "uh well how much do you want for it?" Thinking I could still turn a small profit on ebay with an honest listing, he said "Well From what I'm seein they go for around fifteen-undred, so I'll let ya have it for $900." I told him that's a bit much for how bad the condition it's in and he got really angry and was telling me his son is a real musician who takes perfect care of it.
So I left as fast as I could, it was really awkward after that. My other favorite with craigslisters (probably more on meth than crack, I met a band to jam with on craigslist and they were passing around a meth pipe, but that's another story for another thread) is when I see some old warped, beat up no-name guitar for $2500, "RARE ANTIQUE GUITAR. My grandpa died and this was in his attic next to the AC. No name or case but it's old like my grandpa was, hope it finds a good home."
