I donβt know that I have a favorite filter for cranking the resonance (except perhaps the aforementioned 303- styles, because the style depends on it), but I definitely prefer 2-pole resonance over 4-pole when cranking the resonance. I hate it when Iβm watching demos of synths with 4-pole fitters and the demonstrator inevitably cranks up the resonance to the most shrill and ear-piercing sound imaginable. There is a fairly broad range of cutoff/ resonance combinations in most 4-poles that I will almost never use, whereas that βunsweeten spotβ tends to be pretty narrow with 2-pole filters, IMO of course.
