Which synthesizer do you enjoy cranking up the filter resonance most on?

Monotribe. Its my favourite filter all round but it sounds amazing sweeping it with some resonance

Volca Keys got a really interesting and unsual filter tone. You could get some kind of acoustic analog sounds.

Korg Prologue 16. It was immediate thought after reading your question. It seems that Korg does something good with resonance, judging by the answers so far. ;]

Roland IR3109

TB-303 and clones (TD-3 in my case).

It's great for self-oscillating bell and piano sounds. Also nice for sweeping pads! I also like the KORG DW8000 filter, based on the videos at least.

That was one of my favorite things to do with my SH-101 and Juno-106.

Polivoks filter on the Erica Synths DB-01. I get so used to cranking it to maximum without fear that I sometimes forget and crank other filters in the same way.

Behringer Model D Highpass mode with the external feedback up.

Wonderful trick for resonance. I second your vote.

Self-oscillation also allows for nice Polysix bells!

The Monotribe filter unlike the MS-20 filter can be closed more.
It also can be CV controlled with a simple mod.

Using softsynths I like Diva, ANA 2.0 (Moog/Obie ones if I recall correctly), Sylenth1, Tal U-no-LX, Phoscyon 2. I have to think for too long for others so these must be the most common faves here.

JD 990 and Xena 6 with 3109 filters

I agree. Even though I really love Roland filters in general as well as the Minimoog and Oberheim SEM filters there’s something striking about the Odyssey MKI filter. Not even the modern Ody clones capture how insane it sounds with the resonance high up.

I’ve had a dozen or so synths but the filters in high resonance of the Moog Matriarch, Minitaur and the SE Boomstar 4075 are my fav. I like pumping up drive, res, and feedback on those synths so much it’s rare the resonance is set much lower than a notch or two below self resonance. Especially the Boomstar.

You would probably really like the model D highpass mode I mention earlier in the thread. Agree about the boomstar although I have the 5089. Resonance almost always set high on mine.

Another one I really like is the Elta PF-3 (Polivoks chips). Kind of unpredictable and unstable resonance but always fun/scary to mess around with. Again the highpass mode is pretty nasty.

OB-6

Oberheim SEM type filters (OB-6, TEO-5) are my favorites by far.

The 3340 filters in the Stylophone CPM DS-2 drone synth are great too, using the self oscillation for “falling star” sorts of sounds.

Moog ladders are great too.

Seconding the SH-101, with its resonance going from rubbery at lower settings to laser-like at self-oscillation.

Throwing in a vote for the Ensoniq Mirage (CEM3328). Was the CEM3328 supposed to be a cheaper low-pass only version of the CEM3320? Or maybe it's the fact that it's filtering cruddy 8-bit samples instead of VCOs like in my Prophet-5 and OB-8 (comparing the latter's 4-pole mode only even with its limited resonance). Speaking of, the OB-8 2-pole filter feels like the opposite of the 101, giving you a wide spotlight instead of a laser focus of harmonics.

Apparently the drive knob on the Take 5 sweetens and rounds off the resonance on the Take 5...

I don’t know that I have a favorite filter for cranking the resonance (except perhaps the aforementioned 303- styles, because the style depends on it), but I definitely prefer 2-pole resonance over 4-pole when cranking the resonance. I hate it when I’m watching demos of synths with 4-pole fitters and the demonstrator inevitably cranks up the resonance to the most shrill and ear-piercing sound imaginable. There is a fairly broad range of cutoff/ resonance combinations in most 4-poles that I will almost never use, whereas that “unsweeten spot” tends to be pretty narrow with 2-pole filters, IMO of course.
