A patchless synth and the least desirable Midiverb but for what I paid for the 'verb, it's worth that label (meaning I paid next to nothing for it).

When you hook up the Midiverb 4 and listen to it, you might be led to revise this opinion.

Haha, well that's based on the Internet search results. I have no doubt I'll enjoy this as reverb is my go to effect.

I just found out about this plugin less than a week ago. I can’t believe it flew under my radar.

This is an absolute dream come true. For years I’ve messed with VOPM or whatever and a few other things which tried to mimic the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive with mixed results, usually poor. My jaw is still on the floor after playing with Plogue’s emulation for half an hour. It absolutely sounds like the real thing with complete and total control. Even the noise and the crap DAC vibe is on the money. The real kicker is being able to load .vgm files and glean preset sounds from old games that can be imported into MD so you can play, record, tweak and save. That’s absolutely incredible.

Chasing that Sega Genesis sound I grew up with is over. Even when I was 12 I fantasized of being able to play those sounds on my shitty Yamaha PSR keyboard. Now there’s no need for me to go all crazy ‘Look Mum No Computer’ DIY or settle for the MegaFM from Twisted Electrons. This is it, baby! I have to be straight up honest. This is every single bit as exciting for me as the new Modwave. Perhaps even more so. Actually, yeah… it’s more exciting. I just now decided it is.

This will be my first Moog products since selling my Moog Opus 3 and Moog Prodigy in 1991. About 30 years.

Same. I'm still waiting for one of last month's purchases, though the Finalizer finally arrived this last weekend. The Wizard is terrible, but some of the presets are nice. I'll have to do some deep-diving to get what I want out of it, but it still feels like this was overkill solution considering as I was perfectly content with the sound of Roland's MTK effects.

Probably not many are going to be into the weirdness of this pedal. Anyway, I bought

Just watched the demo of AirTrash. Wow, this is exactly the sound of the current state of things here in the UK. They truly nailed it - it will be inspiring a lot of new genres here for at least two decades to come. You literally cannot play it and not smile at the same time, what a great little gem this pedal is.

I think matching it with a Prophet 10 or a synth of similar calibre would speak to the soul most. Even more so if it doesn't happen to like line signal levels.

So much for that. A Rickenbacker 360/12 popped up for an almost too good to be true price and I jumped.

We'll just see if it really was too good to be true and I'm stuck with a fake. But a 360 is not an easy guitar to fake, the shape seems right, the hardware is correct, the bridge pickup placement seems to be correct, and there seem to be fret nibs. What has me worried is that the tuners are Grover Kluson-style tuners.

It was keeping me up at night with the possibility of passing on it, and now it's keeping me up not knowing if it's legit.

Funny thing is my local stores had some used, but just at the top of my price range before I decided on the Jackson bass. This was cheaper by hundreds of dollars and then the eBay Bonus Bucks helped pay for this.

If this is a fake, this will be probably my worst loss on gear ever, but if this is real, I can easily flip it if I find I don’t use a 12-string enough. Same logic when I bought the System-500.

Besides getting the seller banned for selling fake gear...

Not the most exciting of buys, but got a Roland PM10 drum monitor for the SPD-30 & TD-3 combo. Easily loud enough for my tiny music room and great to get basic stuff moving without having to turn the DAW system on.

FYI: I did hear from Matt saying that he has some more enclosures on order,
so the Air Trash will be available again soon.

Worst night of sleep I've had in a while.

I'm reminded of a time I picked up a Jackson in a pawn shop, that turned out to be a DK2M but with the cheap Jackson-branded pickups instead of the Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz set, that I bought as a pickup test bed before letting go again. My guess with this Rick is that somebody just preferred the look of the Grover tuners, or much less likely, that this is a vintage instrument that would have came with the Klusons stock, and the modern Grover replacements are there because the original tuners broke. The strap buttons also seem to be the modern Schaller strap lock buttons, but that means nothing in regards to dating because they're a drop-in replacement and I did the same to my '74 4001. My new worry is the truss rod cover has a gap between the bottom and the nut, though a replacement nut certainly could do that too. The listing didn't show the output jack, which would help me definitively date it, but also would probably have given someone else the confidence to jump on it and flip it instead of me.

Wait, I'm definitely not a flipper...

Four more things I noticed:

- The headstock is closed back. If this is real, it dates to before 2005.
- When I hit "Make Offer" before buying, there were three other offers.
- They listed a shipping price but said "Local pickup only preferably".
- It's strung with flats, I'll put rounds on if I don't like the flats. And if I find that too tedious, it'll give me the excuse to flip it.

I've been meaning to buy an extra monitoring system since my Simmons set is in my living room, too big for the synth nook.

Cool, I want to pick one, too. Any colour will do. Kudos to Matt for coming up with such a hilarious idea and bringing it all the way to the market.

after a lot of going back & forth i got a toft atb 24. i’ve wanted one since they were announced like 15 years ago!

i got it late last month and got almost everything plugged into it over the weekend.

my plan was to use it as a front end/route signals and get 8 channels back from the daw for eq but mix everything in the box

it’s going to be 99% for synths, drum machines and effects. my mic and bass guitar will go directly into my apollo

there are a lot of negative reviews and this is an early model. i emailed the manufacturer and i can live without the revisions, plus the price was right.

i did some tests and so far mine passes audio quietly on all the channels, i cranked the speakers and couldn’t hear any hiss/noise, and its setup for 8 busses to my apollo. i do have a tech in case anything goes sideways but so far so good!

I remember having a little half rack Midiverb. Oh wait, it was a Microverb.

Anyway, how do you like your CAT? Seems to be a lack of good CAT vids on YouTube.

Fun fact, those are actually 1/3 width. I have the Micro Gate sitting inside my guitar rack because I can use the guitar signal to set the threshold to cut off the stereo signal of the MP-1.

Never needed an angled MIDI cable until now. I cover my setup when it’s not in use to keep off dust and I didn’t like the unnecessary stress on the cable or input. Now I also need to find a right angled power cable for the Volca to make them all sit flat.

The Rockboard Flax cables are cool because they’re adjustable in either direction and can be set in any position using a little provided hex wrench.
