you can use it solely as a sound generator, forget the sequencer on board and midi - whatever you connect via midi out/thru - you will mess with midi devices connected .... so it has to be the last midi unit in chain. I tested it for couple weeks, recorded video with the issues - the SynthTribe agreed there is a problem, and never resolved it - next firmware just messed it up even more, so I gave up....
shame as it is a great synth, soundwise, and also very cool to operate live - turning knobs and faders - the latter are winner over knobs for ADSR - nothing better, so that's I love about this synth - being able to use my fingers, and operate several faders at once, instead of 2 knobs with 2 hands
it's really sad, they just left it as it is....

Thay are aware of the issue and decided to do nothing about it, so it's sad to 'kill' that instrument, as it really required some firmware update (sequencer).
I believe the issue is chip shortage and in consequences less and less instruments will be made next months/years and prices will jump up seriously

If that isn't a stupid question, seeing as the Mk-II isn't out yet.

I can't remember but I think I might have updated my FW on there once, but quit while I was ahead, even though there was another update, I was happy with how things were working already.

TBH, I've not had many synch issues and enjoyed using it as a nice little controller for my other synths. At least how I had it midi'd up. The other problems like glide/portamento are a bit annoying, but I can live with them, seeing as they don't seem to have been really resolved anyway.

I do wish Behringer would give a bit more feedback to their punters. More transparent, blah blah blah...

Just a little bit more communication would be nice. I don't think I'm the first person to mention it.

Anyway, that's good stuff if there is an update to FW for the MS-101. Not sure how brave I'd be to test it though. Andertons have the the MS-1 for 350 quid but don't give a date when they are due. I'll probably let someone else go first on that one.

As I said before, I won't be letting go of the OG MS-101 I got. I probably haven't worked it enough, but it does everything I expected and more. As long as the thing doesn't crap out on me, if it's still going in 10 years time, I'll have got my money's worth. If it's still going in 5 years time I will have got my money's worth. That's a lot of synth in a little space for a very 'reasonable' price. Who am I kidding? More like 'revolutionary' price. That's like a half-decent meal with starters and cocktails to @ zerocrossing ! *

i've tried to use SYNTHTRIBE and to set as trigger with 1PPQ and both polarity but no way, simply it works but is sloppy not tight as it should be

any tip?

Yeah interesting. With the original, your trigger source does have to be quite loud. If you have anything to boost the signal a bit, try that.
