Hi there guys,
I got this AKG D12 200 Ohm microphone at a car boot sale.
I tested it and there is not sound coming from it apart from "statics" when I touch the mounts.
The insides looks like this:
Continuity reads this (if i'm not mistaken??)
And to finish, from what I've observed so far, there is a tiny bit of copper wire coming out from this hole here:
have the little "cap" (baffle?) that sits on the diaphragm, it was misplaced when I opened the microphone.
The copper wire around the main system don't seem to be ruptured.
From what I've seen on various websites, forums so far:
1) the green wire on the last photo should be isolated with a plastic protection.
2) The continuity measure seems odd because it is a 200ohm microphone but at least it shows continuity doesn't it?? (Sorry I'm very bad when it comes to this)
3) The wires and soldering on the "Basschamber" (see here :
https://audioschematics.dk/wp-conten...s/akg-d12e.pdf) seem really kind of odd. I haven't seen the same type of soldering/wiring on photos, forums, or videos so far and could be a source of the problem? Do you think this is normal?
4) The little copper wire (on the last photo, hard to see) coming out (and broken??) of this hole seems strange too.
Any help, recommendation, education on the matter would be greatly appreciated guys!
Cheers from France!
Stan
