So how are you using a USB connection to use the Apple Logic Remote app?! Are you doing the USB network thing?

You just plug the iPad cable into the iPad, and the other end (USB) into the computer. Open logic Remote on the iPad. (The outlet plug disconnects from the cable and is a USB plug, in case you didn't know). Then, if logic is open, it recognizes the iPad and vice versa. There are some prompts to follow the first time, but it works automatically after that.

Haha glad to help. Sometimes we get so far into a wireless mindset that we overlook the wires.

I had read many times that it doesn't work wired...

...and I just tried - I've connected my iPhone via USB (turned off wifi), launched Logic X, launched Logic Remote... Logic can't see Remote, and Remote can't see Logic... 'No Mac running Logic or Garageband was found. Please make sure that a Mac running Logic or Garageband is on the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone'....

Are you sure you're not actually connected via your network - i.e. both your Mac and iPad are on the same local wifi network and your USB cable is just charging the iPad?

No I'm not positive. My Mac is hooked to the router via Ethernet cable, and iPad wifi is on. I'll try it later with wifi off.

Definitely doesn't work that way. Just tried it with iPad disconnected from WiFi, plugged directly into computer. Remote is saying:

"Please make sure that a Mac running Logic.....is on the same WiFi network as your iPad."

FYI, there's a new version of Logic Remote.

Thanks! It's early days, but this with Logic 10.3 seems to have fixed my connection issues!

Anyway, if you rent your wireless router from the cable company and have had it awhile, tell them it isn't working and exchange it for a new one. I recently did that, and everything Internet/wifi-related works 1000% better.

I use an iPad about 80% of the time. Though Pro Tools Control gets just as much love as the Logic Remote, in my studio

I really enjoy using Logic Remote. The chord strips are excellent and documentation / help is used far more than I should admit. With 1.3, I find that connection is now very stable and high performance. I am using an iPad Pro 12.9". Highly recommended.

Hey all. Since the latest Logic update, the remote app has been rock solid.
I'm still using the "home" network for the connection, sharing the network data with Netflix (kids) and whatever else the family is up to.
It holds extremely well regardless - but I'm wondering if getting a separate wifi network for the studio will make a difference? Has anyone made a similar switch and seen a marked improvement?
