Mix magazine is sponsoring an Immersive Sound event at Sony Pictures to discuss Atmos, Auro3D, and other emerging "immersive" sound formats.

Who's going? It would be great to put a face to some of the names I know from this forum.

Harrison is represented heavily with 7 consoles in the big rooms. Gary and I will be moving between the rooms to talk with everyone we can. We also have a small table directly across from the Holden Theater (look for the 8x11 paper that says "Harrison") You can probably find one of us there between the panels. I'm the one with glasses. Gary has all the hair. Damn sales guys.

As I understand it, they had to cap the attendees at 400, and have turned down hundreds(?) since last week.

Who's not going, but wanted to? Let me know if you have any questions, and if they get answered at the show I'll see if I can post the answers on this thread.

I was going to go, but can't make it unfortunately.
So, there's an open spot.

I went to this, it was a really fun time and a great experience. Sorry I didn't see this post before the event, but I enjoyed hearing you speak Ben, along with others on this forum like Marti and Chris, and it was a great day of creative talks and technological demonstrations. Kudos to mix, MPSE, CAS and Sony and all the sponsors for putting on a great event. I think they said they were originally expecting 150-200 attendees, and the final count was just over 530.

I attended and for a 'first time' event, seemed fairly well organized. Lots of great info and a chance to really chat with key people in the industry that sometimes doesn't happen during regular trade shows. A huge 'Thank you' to Sony for hosting the event, and letting us poke around their impressive facility.
