I have recently got into mixing with Spatial Audio in Logic Pro X.

I have had trouble getting my tracks to playback on Apple Music to compare them to other songs. I export my projects as ADM BWF files but I cannot play/import them to apple music. How can I do this?

The simple answer is you can't play ADM files locally. The only way of doing this is with the Dolby Reference Player, Dolby didn't even bother responding to the support request I sent them asking about who this is available to.

You have to encode the ADM to an MP4 this requires the Dolby Atmos Production Suite which can only be bought exclusively via AVID.

However you still can't play that MP4 using Apple Music. Apple Music can only play Atmos streamed from the Apple Music service.

The only way is to send the MP4 to a consumer Atmos device such as an AVReceiver. Than in itself is painful.

It as if Dolby don't want people QAing encoded files as they make it needlessly difficult to do.

Chelgrian - I would love to know how you achieved this - can you explain further?

Read the section of 'QC of the MP4 Export with Professional and Consumer Tools' it's possible to cast the Atmos MP4 when played back in safari to the Apple TV. You need to serve it from an http server to do so. This could be achieved with a standard python module and a short script.
