VR Audio approaches and experimentataion
Hi guys,
Perhaps this would be better in the post production part of the forum but I wanted to cast my net as wide as possible.
I've been approached to do some recording of live music for a video that is to be made using a 360 degree video camera system. Apparently all that exists so far (please fill me in if I'm wrong) is placing a static stereo audio track underneath the 360 video.
I would love to be able to embed a multi channel (at it's simplest form, L - Front - R - Back audio tracks so 4 in total) audio file to the video that then is able to manipulate the level of channels based on where the watcher is looking; thus providing a rotatable perspective that moves or changes as the watcher/listener moves his/her head. Ideally this would be done using info from the gyroscope that controls the perspective control of the video; just like when you look at a panoramic picture on facebook via your smart phone.
Anyway, if any of this is existing tech or you guys know anybody who is doing this sort of thing it'd be great to be directed to them or failing that it'd be good just to start the conversation here...
Thanks, Dave
