I did my first midi recording with Cubase 7.5.2.
I was recording somebody else's Korg keyboard and the first thing I noticed is there are doubles of every note. Is this a Cubase thing or the keyboard?
The other more annoying thing is that I am getting random midi transposing down a semitone when I am editing midi. For example when I split a part or even saving. The weird thing is it is only on playback- the actual notes are not moving.
Help.
Is it recording 2 notes or just sounding doubled when playing the keyboard?
If it's recording 2 select the keyboard specifically as midi input rather than use ALL midi ins....it may be sending on multiple channels
If only when recording/monitoring live play then turn off local mode from within the keyboard.
Not sure why it would transpose I'm afraid.....recording some sort of controller data by mistake??
Might help if you say what keyboard it is.....I'm assuming it's a synth rather than a controller but that's just my guess....if it's just a controller then the local mode advice will not apply!
I was recording somebody else's session so didn't have much control over the keyboard itself. It was one of those low end synths with speakers.
It sounds fine. It was only when I went to edit the midi that I noticed there is two of every note. Next time I will select the keyboard as input.
The random transpose thing has me stumped as it's only on playback. The actual notes haven't changed.
Thanks for your advice.
