I use a large SD2.0 Metal Foundry kit in Cubase/Nuendo. I have an M-Audio Trigger Finger (original) that works great, but only has 16 pads. I have to move between three octaves to access (most of) the kit.
I recently bought a Novation Launchpad, which upon cursory inspection, was ideal because it has 64 buttons. I assigned all of them and began programming. It took about three seconds to realize the pads - unbelievably - aren't velocity sensitive. My fault for not doing adequate research prior to purchasing one.
Looking around, I'm seeing very few options. In fact, the only thing I've seen that seems like it would improve upon my Trigger Finger is the Ableton Push. It has lots of buttons, but what I'm not clear about is:
- Will it work as a MIDI controller in Cubase/Nuendo?
- How is the velocity sensitivity?
Or, if you guys know of other options (MIDI controller with lots of velocity-sensitive buttons), I appreciate your insight.
Thanks!
