Cubase 7.5 performance differences in Windows 7 and 8?

Hi,

I remember reading reports about Cubase performance drop on Windows 8 when it was released.

What is the situation now?

I'm planning new DAW build and I'm thinking should I stay on Win7.

I've gone from Win 7 Pro to Win 8.1 Pro (skipping 8.0.) Everything is actually snappier on 8.1, although differences are minimal. You won't regret it. BTW, Steinberg has "officially" approved 8.1.

Agreed;'I actually like Cubase 8.1 better than Windows 7 once I figured out how to get the start up to show the desk top every time I boot up

Right click on your taskbar, select properties and go to the navigation tab. There should be an option to boot immediately into desktop mode.
