Cubase 13 Monitor/Routing Question

So, currently I am sending my mixbus to my hardware outboard gear and back into my PC to a dedicated audio channel. If I want to hear the incoming sound, I have to enable the Monitor function on the audio channel.

Is there a way to hear the incoming sound without using the Monitor function? I tried everything, but nothing works.

I just want to have the incoming sound always be enabled and without using the monitor function.

Is this possible?

Do you know about external effects? You can set them up in the F4 panel and then use your hardware as an insert.

works great!!! Thank you so much. PS: Put the external Effekt on my master bus group. Audio gets processed by the external HW. Awesome! After that I created a stereo audio channel and set the master bus group as input. Now I can listen without Monitor function and also record whenever I want. love it! Thank you so much!!
