Hi everyone,

Question about where to place my "Source Four"s:

I have 3x "Source Four"s (see attached pic) on the "back wall" tormentor.

I've put 575w bulbs in them (so I can control them with a Dimmer Pack).

I also have thick colored gels on the fixtures.

I just installed 2x new tormentors (left and right). I call it "position B" in the photo.

My question: do you think that I should keep the tormentors on the "back wall" (where they are now), OR, move them to the new tormentors (position B)?

The purpose is to light actors in live plays.

P.S. I have a 4th Source Four fixture, so I'm considering putting 2x fixtures on the left side and 2x on the right side

What in blazes is a tormenter? Is that somthing from the Harry Potter series?

The metal pole on the wall... do you have a better name for it? ?

Yeah... mounting bracket.

I did a web search and sure enough a "lighting tormentor" is a classic name for a wall/ceiling mounting point for theater fixtures. Good on you for knowing this but hope you're not surprised somebody that has no theater experience was left in the dark. LOL.

So now that we have that out of the way, I don't know if moving them to the sides will have much effect.. they're still going to be right in the performers eyes. I think to get best results you want the lights overhead and pointed down at the performers at around 45deg, but don't know if that is an option for you.

Straight on lights give terrible facial illumination. Move them to the side tormentors.
