I'm very sensitive to hum and noise in my studio because it's relatively quiet and my ears start to perk up when I hear noise from gear. I recorded on my phone the hum I heard coming from the SPL Vitalizer MK3-T. Can mk3-t owners tell me if this is typical or if there is an issue at hand?

I have engaged and disengaged the ground button as well as the on button on the front.

I isolated it from all gear and plugged it into a regular wall outlet alone with nothing plugged in but the power cord as well as into a top-notch power conditioner and voltage regulator. The same hum exists in all scenarios.

If you have this unit, please, if you can, put your ear up to it and tell me if the same hum exists so I can know if I need to return it. Don't know if it's the tube or the unit.

There is hum, for sure. Some of my older devices have transformers hum, but this one is relatively new, right?

Yes, this device is brand new!. I just cant tell if its typical and I'm just too alert. I guess I don't know if this is the typical hum that comes with these units or if there is a problem.

You hear it when you turn it on from the device itself, right? Not from your speakers.

Mine physically hums as well, it is subtle but noticeable when switching on/off the device. It does add a bit of noise to the signal path too.

that makes me feel better. This is the noisiest piece of gear i own but nothing online mentions its hum which is absolutely noticeable to me.

I had a new Transient Designer that had some kind of dirty crackly noise around -65db. Tried different power sources, cables etc.
That unit got returned.

A powersupply like that can hum, my Manley vari mu also hums, my eventide eclipse and my V30 MIDIMINI hums... all the older clavia synths hums.... i would not worry, its the transformer

Yes, It’s humming physically. The audio signal is pretty clean tho. But hum is here
