Help getting USB mic to work in MPC 2.15 desktop
I Googled this, I Youtubed this, I browsed Reddit. All I was finding is how to do it on an MPC Standalone. Which doesn't help me, I have an MPC Studio Black and the latest desktop software. I'm running Windows 11, no audio interface (yet) and I'm routing my audio thru Voicemeeter so I can sample directly to the MPC software. I have a HyperX USB microphone, which is setup as an input in Voicemeeter. And it works in other programs.
I'm lost what to do on the MPC side though. When I go into the audio preferences for input I don't see the USB mic, and trying the mic the levels don't move when I talk and if I try recording nothing comes up. If I change the audio device from ASIO Voicemeeter to Directsound the mic will be an option in input devices and I can record audio.
My question is, is there a way to make the software record the mic when it's in Voicemeeter mode? That way I don't have to switch the source from Voicemeeter to directsound and back every time I want to switch from being able to sample and being able to use the microphone.
And, if anyone has a better, or different way to sample directly I'm all ears. I honestly don't know if how I'm doing it is even a good way. But, it's a way I was able to figure out. I'm a few months out from getting an audio interface so I'm looking for the best method to be able to do both.
if anyone can help me out, thanks in advance.
