Recording Spotify Into Audacity=Low Volume?

I'm wanting to record Spotify into Audacity in order to then import into my DAW to see the actual LUFS for referencing when mastering(of course with Spotify volume normalization off).

I figured out how to make that work, but the resulting recording is way too low. When I go to the "record level" in Audacity and turn it to zero, I get a nasty feedback loop of sorts.

How can I record into Audacity and the resulting file be exactly the same as what was playing in Spotify?

The audio quality is always lower if you record instead of download or convert music. Maybe you can give AudFree Spotify Music Converter a shot. It specializes in downloading and converting any Spotify content to MP3, FLAC, etc. with lossless audio quality and ID3 tags. The MP3 files will be streamed in 320kbps, just like on Spotify.

Why not use open source freeware Spytify? Then lift the recorded material into your DAW.

If you are recording by recording instead of downloading Spotify or converting music to music format, the audio quality may be a little worse. Maybe you can try TunesFun Spotify Music Converter. I have been using this tool to convert music, it is designed to download any Spotify content and convert it to MP3, FLAC, etc., with lossless sound quality and ID3 tags, just like on Spotify.
