Low CPU usage on Samplitude bounce

when I bounce my stuff in ProX4, I notice bouncing is somewhat slow while the CPU is only taxed at about 25%. I'm running most of my projects off an external USB3 hd (no ssd), but the bounce speed depends on the amount of VSTs I use, so the hd shouldn't really be the bottleneck. Any thoughts?

Cheers, Peer
