This thing has ALL sorts of crazy options. For instance, One thing I asked Boz to consider putting in was a knob that allowed you to change how quickly or slowing the delay recovered from the pitch shift caused by changing times. For instance, I LOVE the pitched sounds that occur when the delay changes time... I love them when I want them for effect.... so sometimes, I'll automate a delay to change MS and give me pitchy effects... but other times, I want a clean transition with my delays over BPM changes. So its nice to have the feature that allows me to tune how quickly or slowly it returns back to its normal pitch. I can set it higher, 8 Hz and up, which gives me a FAST change over BPM changes that keeps it from giving me pitched artifacts... or, set it slow, 1 Hz and lower, for when I want the pitched artifacts to be there. And, I can automate this parameter. So I can have trippy effects in some sections, automate it to go return really fast for when it goes over BPM changes, then automate it back to slower so I can use it for more trippy effects. This is the coolest, little detail of any delay I've ever seen. If you don't see it, its at the bottom left-hand side of the big delay knob.. its a screw. Boz purposefully made it smaller, because its a finer detail. Very powerful tweakage here.

I don't have all the delay plugins in the world (I have a good handful though), I'm not raking in the money, so I don't know how many other delay plugins have features similar to this, but you couple the little fine detailed features like this, along with the more broad features... and you have yourself a powerful plugin. Just about any delay you can dream up, this thing can do. Ducked Delays, pitched delays, distorted delays (and you can route the dry vocal into the distortion unit if you'd like, or leave it clean), endless loops that constantly feedback into itself (Boz mentioned that he built a limiter into the feedback loop so you can do endless loops without it killing your monitors or ears), etc.

Needless to say, I'll be purchasing my copy soon... next payday for sure.. I think it'll be before the sales up!

IMO Echoboy has many more options and sound sculpturing with deep but intuitive GUI.

How could I stop the spinning background wheel?
I always stop the spinning wheel on plug-ins. (such as VTM)
Would be great if this is optional. (don't like constant visual disturbance when tweaking)

Is there a place to set left channel and right channel in different SYNC in "stereo" mode?

I am a regular user of Echoboy and others, and I found the Boz Imperial Delay demo video to show some very nice workflow features that will offer something different for me - I am about to demo the actual plug in a session.

But really, on sale from $300 - it would never sell for that much IMO must be a joke

Tap tempo on the demo version will only go to 40 bpm on AU, VST and VST3 versions on Studio One/Mac, regardless of the actual tempo I tap. Is this a demo limitation or a bug?

Yeah, I was going to say: I don't think it's a joke, based on what Boz wrote. Laying that aside however, I played with the demo and it was an instant buy for me. I have several delays, but this thing just sounds ridiculously good. And it's quite intuitive and easy to tweak - even for a guy like me, Lol.

I don't know whether the $300 price is a joke, but at $59 it's a no-brainer for me. I would get it while you can...

The plugin is magnificent... If you like delays... Then even at 60 bucks, it's super cheap. You don't have to pay 300, that's why Boz has the intro price. Demo it, and pay 59 if you like it. . I created some pretty cool presets that come with the delay, not all of them, but some.. Play with the presets and see what it's capable of doing.

You guys are killing me. 59 dollar intro price. Simple as that.

Good tactic to make people impulse buy before it becomes a price you'll have to really deliberate over.

Personally I can imagine sales drying up on the 11 November, especially considering when you have D16 group sigmund for 69 euros amongst others.

But I'll give it a demo and see if it's a must have.

I seriously didn't need another Eq, but this is really good. The distortion and modulation effects feel complete, not just add ons and they really allow for some lovely textures. Really good job. Can't help but want more though. Like a shimmer mode. Although the picth controls are pretty cool It's not quite cloud like. Maybe just need to tweak it more.

Pitching stuff up sounds quite granulated and brittle. Like a poor time stretching algo.

I don't work for Boz, he doesn't pay me to promote his products, I just really believe they are excellent. So I'm sticking up for his products on my own will. With that said, no one is "making" you "impulse buy" his products. If 2 weeks isn't long enough for you to determine if it's good enough to get before the intro price is up, that's on you. You get more time to demo this thing before the intro price is up than you would when buying a car.. And you wouldn't even be getting an intro price and you wouldn't get to take it home and try it out for weeks on end. Yes, I'm sure there is some marketing strategy put into his intro price, but he's also a very humble guy who wants to give people a chance to not break their banks buying it. I've been chatting with him for weeks now and I get the impression that he's nothing short of an honest guy, running a one man developing shop.

I'm gonna buy it during intro pricing, as it's really top notch in the workflow and and sound department - the best new delay for some time IMO - a great plug!

I wasn't criticising the man, his marketing strategy is his affair. I meant 'make' in the loose sense, obviously we are self determining entities, but making a cool plugin and having an intro price at a 5th of the retail is going to 'make' you get out the card if you find it of some use. Otherwise you're never going to buy it, unless money is of no object.

I just suspect he's going to find it harder to shift them after intro is over considering the competition and the plugin market nowadays. That's his call. Good luck to him. There's plenty of options for us who like to roll cheap.

I think that's missing the point... Nobody is saying that this is not a good plugin. Is it better then Sigmund or Echoboy that's down to an individuals opinion (I have both incidentally).

I liked what I saw in the demo and the work flow looks good. Do I need another delay, probably not. But as I liked T-bone (better then 'Tilt' imo)so I'll probably pick this up too, or at the very least try the demo.

$300 is not necessarily bad for a plugin per se (or a set of plugins). However, it would have to be something major, like a mastering EQ or something.

But $300 for a delay plugin seems absolutely bizarre to me. You could buy Ozone 6 and have $150 to spare. Or get a few of the Aqua plugins.

However, I'll wager that after the intro period sizzles away, that price will be whittled down very very quickly... But best of luck to him if he can actually get 300 wing wangs.

I feel that echo boy is over priced at $179 for god's sake. But D16's Sigmund is pretty darn cheap too and it's a quality plug.

I guess I sort of understand where everyone's coming from, I just don't see the logic in complaining about something you don't even have to deal with. Oh well, I'll keep my mouth closed from here on out... As I seem to be outnumbered.

Ok well I guess this shall be my first post on here (been lurking for way too long anyways).

So first off, great f-ing product we have here.... Between the intuitive interface, the preset system, the ducking comp, the "smear" feature, the pitch-shifter, and the dynamic feedback option. This is one hell of a beast...... And I really want to pick this up while its still "affordable"

But that brings me to my problem here. I usually try to avoid buying plug-ins (or gear) while on "sale" by the creator of the gear. Only because I know how much work goes into creating these tools, and I feel like I'm taking advantage of these "creators" for whatever reason they may have to drop the price of their product.

But at 300 dollars, for a delay unit (ITB). This is way, way out of my budget......and that's the worry here. I could honestly say that if it were priced to compete with some of the other delay plugs available (EchoBoy for instance, which in IMO is THE delay "toolbox", and IMO quite expensive,which is apparently going iLok free pretty soon) I would have waited happily until after the sale, And could honestly say that at least 3 other friends/colleagues would be in the same camp (yeah it's "not cheap" but it's sure as hell worth it!)

I'll still prob be getting this, if only for the dynamic feedback and the ducking comp........still the thing that F***S with me is that if I were to have been away from internet access for a few weeks (as I tend to be on a regular basis). I would have missed out on the sale, and probably would never been able to purchase this uber-expensive, yet AWESOME tool....

I know its not my place to argue with the manufacturer (let alone one I respect as Boz) with my words.....My argument can only come from my wallet, and as it stands my wallet could never justify a 300 Dollar delay plugin-in.... So what to do?......I'll prob most prob buy it though...

I think they just give you a personal copy. With your name embedded in the file, so if you give it out, it'll have your name of it. But I dont totally remember and I haven't installed my copy yet. I'll let you know when I get home and do so.
