Guys. brainworx_XL beats the monkey's arse with the vengeance!dfegad Watch the bx video. I've learned how to use it without distorting the signal and it does wonders that neither F-GX, Pro-L, nor Elephant can do, and I luv me Elephant, it's a kickarse limiter but XL is King. It has its weakness, that is distortion which can be circumvented by the correct use of Gain/Threshold relationship. In fact I would go as far to say as its magic is unmistakable. I believe when it reaches V2 and the stars are right that time around the distortion will be gone and all ye squash headz be happy.
Agree - the bx_xl v2 isn't a one knob gain plug like most other limiters. People should learn how to use it - once you do there is no turning back...
True, I never understood the negative comments about this plugin. I love it and almost always prefer it over my other limiters (which include all the usual suspects).

Yup - it gives that instant pro and wide mastered sound. I use the bx_digital v2 as well further up in the mastering chain to control mono, stereo and m/s. What I notice with the bx_xl v2 is that some of the punch/snap of the kick drum is removed compared to FF Pro-L and Waves L3-LL/L3-16. Have not figured out how to fix this - any idea ?

Have you tried Invisible Limiter. It retains alot of transient.
I noticed that BX XL V2 is updated to 2.5.
Would you tell us what is new under the hood?
Thanks
Just updated to 2.5, I'm probably imagining it, but this version seems to distort a lot less easily. I love the idea behind this plug, but I've never been able to make it work for me without things turning to mush. Hope it's not my imagination and they fixed it.
