Are MTU and VOL automatable parameters?

I’ve automated the MTU but didn’t try the vol.. would have to assume it is

I was wondering ihow this was set up. Two automatable parameters:

-separate as in one MTU and the other one VOL

or

-shared as in one value (0 to 100 for example) and the other one an MTU/VOL switch like the GUI set to MTU by default

Both have a dedicated parameter, in fact every drum has it's own tune and volume automatable, even the sample start and end points

I'm starting with VProm 2 since I'm still on Win7. Hopefully I'll have a new Win11 PC later this year. Then I'll be able to enjoy all the new features of VProm 3.

This could very well be the last plugin I buy in a long time. 25 years ago my first VST plugin was the LM-4 from Steinberg. I guess with VProm I'm back where it all started.

Someone will have to emulate that piece of history soomer than later.

That said, I still haven't found an easy way to open drum banks. All I can see are individual drum machine sounds, but they're greyed out.
On top of that, I can't find the "Open Library" button anywhere.
Honestly, it's a bit frustrating. It might be the best-sounding drum machine on earth, but I don't want to spend my time just trying to figure out how to make it work—I just want to make music. I think I'll pass.

I keep wondering—why not install the whole libraries instead of only the individual sounds? It would make much sense to me.
I'd open a MPC60 Kit for example, and eventually change only few sounds

The µlaw interpolation makes user hi-hat/cabasa/tambourine samples sound rather gritty and dusty. How do you guys make these samples sound as clean as possible again? Putting a high pass filter on the outputs of those sounds helps, but perhaps you have other methods. Perhaps processing the samples before converting them to bin files?

When browsing bin files in the EPROM browser of the PROM panel, I can't seem to use the up and down arrow keys to go through the list of bin files. Only clicking and scrolling with the mouse works. Do you guys experience the same thing? I hope AJ can add this functionality to browser.

Sure, the way it works now is much faster than swapping EPROMs on real drum machines, but it could be even better.

Maybe it's also possible to add tags (bassdrums, snares, hi-hats, etc.)? You can search on name, but then you must make sure all your converted samples are named correctly. And with 3rd party sample libraries that isn't always the case.

Another thing I noticed. The conversion is done at 27060 Hz. Alt+click on the Tune knob sets the tuning to 26500 Hz. Do you guys know where that frequency comes from? Would you rather have the default tuning at 27060? Fortunately Shift+click on the Tune knob lets you enter a value manually, but AJ might be willing to change the default tuning frequency.

I like this improvement of VProm 3. Creating and using bin files is pretty easy. VProm 2 on the other hand allows files up to 32 kb. If a file is longer, it won't load.

Unfortunately on my music PC (Win7) I still have to use VProm 2, so it needs some work from me to create bin files with VProm 3 that I can load into VProm 2. No problem with sounds that have a short decay, but sounds like toms and cymbals require some editing before converting with VProm 3 for use in VProm 2.

I figured out how to import proms from VPROM2, but it just imports the bins (sounds). Is there anyway to import the rest of the patch data from VPROM2 presets, i.e. volume, pan, tune, etc?

Man I'm loving this plugin, it's rapidly becoming my go-to drum source. And I'm a hardcore hardware type of guy.

I did however pick up a Beatstep Pro to function as a hardware front end for it, and program patterns and chains in a classic hardware drum machine way, as I really don't like programming MIDI stuff within a DAW.

I use VProm in Maschine. Great combination.
