Does he write anything on his Facebook page as he did before (as pointed out in an earlier posting)? I'm not on Facebook myself.

I too think the whole thing is rather odd -obviously the guy has technical abilities and has indeed put a lot of work into this, as we can see from the photos and his earlier comments. Could something have happened to him? Does anyone know him personally, or his whereabouts and could check?

The project seems very interesting indeed, and obviously I'm not the only one feeling that way, so it's a pity if it all gets scrapped. If for some reason he's unable to continue with it, someone else should be allowed to take over in order to realize and complete the project.

I have been receiving these thread updates continually and I must say being this close to Christmas I doubt any of you are making things better here if anything you are making matters worse and creating much, much more pressure!

This scenario of a person whom has built a prototype and then others say "Wow I'd love one of those" or something akin can and does roll into a huge thunderous ball of trouble and seemingly pressure and deep stress.

Having been someone who was nearly up for this I just didn't complete the final transaction why, no idea skipped my mind. Though from Drum machines to $5000 dollar Compressors, Mic preamps and Equalisers it's the same, same old story!

This guy is simply 1 person, not Mackie or Behringer or SSL nor Neve, Linn and Roland. No he is simply one person! 1, now I ask you could you do this I mean design it, build it and sell it and mostly at some huge labour loss even at McDoalds rates of hourly pay - could you? Hmmm I thought not!

Look no one here has invested so much money that you're going to be hurt busted nor unable to make beats without it, as simply you e never had it? This guy dreamed something up and if you read the thread writ large and full.

Many here shouted "Oh though if you can this, this and this and this, it's a dream box it's the unit we all can't afford as they're so rare, busted or expensive etc. And yes I've seen this happen now 4-5 times and with much higher costings so don't melt down to quickly here.

Let's say the last message simply was He has all the parts, bought in bulk as much as possible and from knobs to casework to decal to putting them on a Pcb board non factory style, it's a huge undertaking and for him, a job with no joy a guilt ridden factor in that he's obfuscating and hiding as the pressure is well say way too much and bingo....your doing zilch to help!

Sure I know what everyone wants and it's simply a Hi...yes I'm still going though I got stuck message etc.

Look look at you're own life, the problems the enormous mountains you've climbed the problems, the deep, dark despair and often the feeling it's all lost, that's exactly what this guy is feeling right now. He might have had a new baby, a death, an illness and numerous other factors that leave you in a total mess, somethings gone wrong, and you all...want blood? No!

From your immediate problems to his you are simply not making this better adding more weight on his shoulders in fact I'd say your pushing him much farther away then where he feels cool.


Honestly you've never had one, so you've lost nothing, you knew exactly what you were getting involved with and you asked for more and more. Ok cool and he said he could do it? Seems he most likely can do it though is learning just how tough birthing a product and it's gestation period takes! If this was some major OEM company and you all got a message from the PR and other types of marketing you'd groan moan and just wait!


My advice just hold out! It's not something to live or die over, and you'll know much better next time!

Finally ease up.....give the guy Xmas at least then a few weeks by mid January 2018 I bet you something pops up, if not try again, other people's lives can and are very complex don't be "That Guy or Those People" huh....it's bloody Xmas the worlds gone mad enough as it is so....maybe just lay off and toss a bone of goodwill.

No I don't know this dude, though he's not the first and isn't the last to be caught out here!

He gave the pcb option in kickstarter and thats what I ordered (+ chips). So i'm not really tripping anyway.

Sorry here I wasn't trying to make an example of you...it was a generalised comment and NO at $500 bucks I'd be angry too, I've seen no updates and I'll post the link below, nope I've got no dog in this fight so it matters not to me! I will say this though I've had a much larger chunk $3000 involved and damn it is not a good feeling. I guess if he was some known money grubbing fraud who needs a knuckle sandwich it might be different though it's not the case. Let time happen. 10 went in...you'll get your money or unit back just not today or tomorrow etc.

Legal action has already been taken. Mr Khan now owes a backer the full pledge amount plus the cost of the chips (which he has not paid back yet).

I don't understand your location. I had a solid laugh with your post as I was trying to decipher / digest what was wrote as well.

Anyways, the possibly planned case/interface looks better than the previous tiny one.

Eh it was a small price to dream. I always consider Kickstarter pledges to be donations. No guarantee the seller keeps up their part of the bargain. I've been burned a couple times, but still happy with the products I did get. I think here honest good intentions just imploded after the project became too complex. It's just a few hundred euros, not worth nailing this guy to the cross for (i paid for full finished version and some chips, oh well)

That sums up my feelings exactly.
Add to it the shame of admitting he failed, and you have the reason for his non-communication.
I have been burned several times, with crowdfunding or otherwise (Chimera anyone?), and nothing I could have done would have brought my money back to me.

It is a lot of money, yes.
And what he and others did (and didn't do) is not okay.
But if we all want to avoid such adventures, we can always stick to Thomann, Guitar Center, Sweetwater or your favourite multi-million-dollar-dealer around the corner.

I will continue supporting crowdfunders, and I will certainly fall on my nose a few times more, but I will enjoy using the things I helped come to existence.

FYI: LM-1 had CEM filters on the Bass Drum, Toms and Congas. Linndrum was never called the "LM-2"

and a failed one at that...

If I remember correctly, people invested in this project, sent Chris a huge bunch of CEM chips and then he took off and stole everything and fell off the map.

Maybe sequential will make something like this one day... one can dream.

Who cares if this project is dead, Synthpop is dead, Hiphop survived, so go for SP-1200/Isla 2600. If needed, load LM1/2/9000, DX/DMX, drumulator or drumtrax EPROM samples.

Is this still going forward? I'd probably buy 2
