Sounds very good. Purchased. I use Shimmer Shake Strike a lot for percussion tracks or click replacement. These sound like they will complement it nicely.

A cool feature that SSS as, is the option to trigger a groove from the DAW host (and select full or half time for the groove), so you can set a groove and then use it as a click replacement. You can also then drag and drop that groove to the MIDI track to have it playback that way.

Is this possible with this instrument? Or could it be possible in an update?

I'll take a look at SSS, not familiar with this library.
With Tambourine Sister, the notes C4 to B4 all trigger various grooves.
The Pop/Rock preset will work well to use as a click replacement, as it offers lots of simpler 8th or 16th grooves.
You can simply draw a long note in your piano roll to have the groove play in sync with your DAW, and use it instead of a click. That's what I did for the intro track in the video demo:

How would you compare the sound/vibe of the two in practice? Like many, Shimmer Shake Strike 2 is my go-to for this stuff.

This looks very nice. I also use Shimmer Shake Strike quite a bit.

I know it's probably a big ask, but some other time signatures would be nice.

I do run into things like 5/4 and 7/8 frequently with clients. Adding some tambo at various spots in a production can enhance and stabilize things greatly, but people playing that live isn't always easy, especially if they are unsure of the purpose of why I'd request it. A program like this could come together faster, especially if you are just experimenting.

I think that the tambourines are the weakest area of SSS in terms of how expressive they are. I’m just going by the demo video of this so far. I purchased on the strength of how they sounded in that.
I’ll get a proper go at these when I have time off work tomorrow and report back.

I use quite a lot other than 4/4 time signatures - this is one element what makes music interesting. Of course 3/4 but 5/4 (Take Five!), and 7/4 (e.g. Money by Pink Floyd), but also e.g. 6/8 (e.g. Paul Simon’s Stranger to Stranger) and 9/8 (Dave Brubeck Blue Rondo à la Turk, this rhythm is an additive rhythm that consists of three measures of 2+2+2+3 followed by one measure of 3+3+3 and the cycle then repeats).
Not to mention the use polyrhythm for making variation and hooks to the music.

I highly recommend you to add the ”odd” (not odd at all, for me) grooves to your palette.

I use 3/4 a lot. I used this in a project the other day (3/4 timing) and manually played the groove, but I think that Shimmer Shake strike is still more immediately usable for my needs.

The Tambourine sisters is very well-recorded, most usable (althought I noticed I need to put compressor in some cases to make some sounds loud enough).

Why not just turn it up? Or do you mean it's dynamically uneven?

Yes, as said, some sounds aren’t loud enough, depending on the style of music and other instruments/arrangement. But this is a matter of taste, of course, and no deal breaker for the product.

Yes, I was asking for clarification as to why you'd use a compressor to turn something up rather than a fader, unless you mean the level of individual round robins is widely uneven or something, which would obviously be something to consider when purchasing.

I agree. I don't think the request is so specialized. Maybe not many people have requested it, but that doesn't mean people aren't hoping to find it.

I mean, music is being created every day, and lots of people use more than two time signatures. This product would have a competitive advantage by being a go-to resource for producers looking for more!

I completely agree: I also love to use other time signatures, and just never thought about adding this to products. I'll definitely keep this in mind for the future
Last summer I developed a new groove engine for 6/8 rhythms for Magic African Drums, with the possibility to morph between 6/8 and 4/4 metrics. A month later I offered free updates for 15 older libraries with these new rhythmic functions.
I really enjoy working on these built-in grooves and mod-wheel variations, and I try to learn new things with each new release.
I'm really grateful for all opinions, ideas and request, it has tremendous value to me

The black keys and white keys are different in terms of dynamics and round/robins:
The black keys have the accents, with 2 Round Robins, and between 11 to 30 velocity layers: try to play one of these keys at various velocities and the dynamic effect should be very noticeable This works specially well with the Ludwig Tambourine (C2-B2)
The white keys have the swings/shakes, and instead of velocity layers, each of these keys offer a pool of up to 60 round-robins. The round-robins used here are very similar samples: if you play the same key 10 times in a row, you should not notice much difference between the samples, this is normal. But if you play very quick repetitions on one of these white keys, you should get a very natural and realistic response, and that's were all these subtle RR come into play.

The modwheel control of the patterns is a great feature - you can fine tune different variations of one groove-key. Very creative programming of the LDC.
