Hi Everyone,

The ’70s were a time of unprecedented musical richness. Psychedelic music, rock, jazz, soul, the birth of hip-hop, the beginnings of electronic music, and so on. The music of this decade still influences nowadays popular Western culture.

At that time, the music production environment also experienced great revolutions, we shall note the appearance of a tool that is indispensable today: the parametric EQ.

Some of these first EQs have distinguished themselves, one of them is still present in many world-class studios: the GML 8200.

Pulsar 8200 is a faithful emulation of the legendary GML 8200 designed by George Massenburg, the inventor of the first parametric EQ. As you may know, full EQ control is a formality today, but it was a dazzling novelty back in the day.

Just like the original machine, Pulsar 8200 can give tight and solid low-end boosts, pristine high-end extra air, and generally speaking, precise and musical control over the whole frequency spectrum. It perfectly emulates the all-discrete, Class-A analog electronics that made the original machine so famous.

Also, the parallel topology and the unique filter shapes sound more natural than any digital EQ.
From another perspective, the on-screen edition is a major workflow improvement to obtain these great-sounding results within seconds.

We also added all the features you would expect from a modern, versatile tool.

Key features:
  • On-screen curve edition
  • Additional coloration bands
  • Comprehensive digital metering
  • Tilt filter
  • Built-in de-esser
  • Auto gain compensation
  • Gain scale
  • Mid-Side Processing
  • Spectrum Analysis
  • Smart and resizable GUI
  • Up to 8x oversampling
  • Presets from world-class sound engineers

… and countless other features present in every other Pulsar Audio plugin.

We are very happy and relieved to finally release this plugin.
We hope you will like it.

A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to the release of this plugin, and to all Pulsar plugins users, who allow us to continue doing what we love.
