Universal Audio announces UAD Spark UADx native subscription service

Universal Audio has announced UADx native, allowing users to equip their DAWs with select UAD2 plug-ins without the need for the DSP hardware that was previously required. The UADx line includes the famed 1176 and LA2A compressor collections, the Neve 1073 Preamp/EQ, the Studer A800 tape machine, Lexicon's 224 Digital Reverb, the API Vision Channel Strip and 2500 Bus Compressor, among others. The initial native plug-in selection will be further expanded in the future. A new subscription service called UAD Spark and two brand-new virtual instruments are also available: the Waterfall B3 Organ and the Opal Morphing Synthesizer, the latter exclusive to Spark subscribers. UA's Minimoog and Ravel Grand Piano instruments, which were only available as Luna extensions, are now also available as AAX, Audio Unit (AU) and VST Plug-Ins. UADx is compatible Apple M1 silicon on MacOS Catalina or newer, with Windows support coming at a later date.
UAD Spark is an exciting new subscription service that finaly puts pro audio industry standard UAD plug-ins and new UAD Instruments into the hands of music producers. The evolving collection runs natively on Mac ($19.99/month)*, with Windows coming later this year.
Apollo and UAD hardware owners who have purchased a perpetual license of a UAD plug-in featured in UAD Spark will be eligible to download the UAD Spark version for free.
A 14-day free trial will be available for UAD Spark. All Volt users will be eligible for 1-month free.
