Ah I understand.

You can "embed" 32 bit plugin windows, so that they appear and behave the same as 64 bit plugins do. I'm away from my daw, but right click the name of the plugin after you've inserted it, and from the menu just select the right option, which I don't remember now as I very rarely use anything 32 bit.

Whoops, now I'm with my daw and here's how you do it correctly:

Open the FX browser window, locate the 32 bit plugin of your choice, right click it's name on the browser windows, select "run as" -> "embed bridged ui".

Oh that's odd.. Are you on OSX? The option is available on my win 8.1 machine, Reaper 5.96..

yes, OSX here.

Apart from it, latest Reaper does not allow me to load 32 bits plugins so I had to downgrade it to 5.40 version and this way it loads them. Maybe the opdtion you say is just on latest version.

I wrote in reaper forum asking about this possible bug but I got zero official answer...

Quick googling revealed that this feature has been requested on OSX for long time.

I'd heard on a snotty AA forum Mac is phasing out 32 bit...... Sometimes I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship that I need to get out of.....Planned obsolescence central.....

In that regard, what is the currect gain staging into this plug ?

It's old behavior. Now input section has internal compensation. No volume change.

Input works like Threshold.

And Threshold knob is actually Ratio.

I, too, was bummed by the fizzy sound [which was apparent at its fullest in limiter mode].
After a LOT of headscratching I THINK I have bumped into a solution:
As YALA seem to be VERY sensitive, it seem to overreact to sub-to-low info [as apparent in so many nowadays tracks]. So, I'd put an EQ before AND after it, the first cutting at 50-55 Hz with 1.0q and -3dB of gain and the last [right after yala] replanishing those 3dB [with the same Hz/Q settings].

I just bumped into a situation where +-3dB was not enough. Even 6dB. So, 12dB [cut/boost before/after - resprctively] did the trick...

Just using these 2 on a drum buss and they sound great. Yala is especially nice on drums.

I'm still looking forward to TREQ with the reduced cpu load + output gain.

TREQ was updated months ago. Not expecting an update with output knob. But honestly, having Fiver, TREQ almost becomes redundant...and Fiver is his best, most solid EQ.

Unfortunately, he's removed the "legacy" products.

Yes, however v2 uses loads of cpu on my laptop. It was mentioned that a reduced cpu version would be on the way, just like he reduced the cpu for several others that came out more recently.

After trying to sell the company and having an unexpected "high" few months ago, with overloading himself (WAY too many new plugins in short time) I think he is gone again and I don't expect anything anymore. Was TREQ 2 actually better sounding? bmanic stated that N492ME mk1 sounds way better than mk2 and I wonder what actually changed from TREQ 1 to 2. I bought 2 myself so can't compare. Do I actually use it? No.

I just got the chance to finally try this one, and I gotta say I'm positively impressed!
It's quite a good RS124/438a recreation, definitely closer to any 124 revision than the effort from Soundevices Digital if you ask me, so definitely keep it up Tunca!

I should point out a serious "flaw" that keeps this from achieving the 124 character: the release times are too fast.
Even the slowest release setting is faster than the fastest setting on the original (I compared it to a 60050A rev, but I imagine other revisions will have the same release times more or less), so it would be great if you could tweak the code to allow for slower release times, or maybe add a switch to multiply the release time by a factor (say, 10x), to allow to easily switch between "older" and "more modern" release times, that would really make it interesting for people looking for a substitute for the long-abandoned abbey road plugins.

Now, for a next emulation, how about the TG12413/Zener limiter?

Nobody else noticed the 'atten' and 'volume' are switched?

I tested this plugin today and those were my exact thoughts. No idea why these two knobs are set up like that.

Enjoying the way this softens transients. What circuit is it based on/inspired by? An Altec compressor? Was also wondering what design Kolin was based on, if any.
